  1. Rural road deaths increasing

"A new report has identified an increasing number of fatal crashes on rural and regional roads".

"An analysis by the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) found 906 people died on roads outside the capital cities in 2025, a 10.5 per cent increase on 2024. The ARSF understands this to be the highest number of regional fatalities since 2020."

"Deaths on rural, regional and remote roads made up nearly 70 per cent of the national road toll in 2025, despite only about 25 per cent of the population living in those locations." >>

  2. Motorised bikes
First they put e-bikes on the market, then it is a long wait for regulation of illegal high-powered 'motorbikes' on shared pathways and beaches.

There has been "...alleged antisocial and criminal behaviour involving a group of youths riding e-bikes in the Moonee and North Sapphire Beach areas."

"The claims echo concerns being raised in communities right across the state. For many locals, the issue isn’t just legality. It’s safety on shared pathways residents once felt confident using every day." >>

  3. Koala dies after allegedly being dragged behind vehicle down a street

"A rope was tied around the animal's neck and the other end was looped around a vehicle's tow ball, before the animal was dragged along the road."

"There was blood and fur along the road where it got dragged. It was gurgling blood and had deep abrasions over a lot of its body."

"Volunteer vets were forced to euthanise the animal after it suffered injuries, including deep abrasions and a fractured jaw."

  4. I'd like to nominate for the #Darwin award the 200 or so #motorists who tonight drove past (nearly over) a #motorcyclist who was lying on the ground after a serious #roadaccident on #TulseHill #London. Clearly no fucks given about human life, they just beeped and drove round over the pavement, with debris everywhere, cos the guy dared delay their journey. I had heard the horrible noise of crushed metal but thought no one had been injured from the way #cars were driving thereafter. I was wrong.

  5. In one small #study, it was proven that #cops who begin #traffic stops of #Black #drivers by issuing commands rather than explanations are more likely to escalate.

The rate of traffic stops for #white #motorists in this undisclosed #city was much too small to be able to provide #data that would be #statistically relevant...

    #FTP #ACAB #DefundThePolice and fully fund #SocialServices and #education, instead.

    No #armed traffic #police, anywhere.

It will be even more interesting to watch 👀 #CarDrivers removing #bicyles from #ParkingSpaces
    -because "THEY need the space"
    while #bikes can park everywhere
-because they don't know the rules and think the bike ist parked illegally
-because they simply ignore the new special proposal
or even worse: watch harsh conflicts ✊ between #cyclists and #motorists ... 🤨
