    Look at it this way: There are two exogenous inflation events with (a) the Iran War's oil supply shock, and (b) the tariffs, particularly the trade war with Canada creating price shock. They work inflation from different ways, with supply shocks delivering immediate inflation and price shocks causing immediate disinflation followed by accelerated inflation.

    Part of why we're seeing higher inflation *now* is due to last year's crazy tariffs which were eventually blocked this year.

    The road to 2% inflation is paved with good intentions. The road to Trump's economy is a dirt road sprayed over with gold paint.
