  1. Moin,

    wir hören gerade ungehörte Wochenendrebellen-Folgen an.

    Und sind dabei auf ein tolles Zitat von Jason zum Bahnverkehr gestoßen:

  3. The Mayor of London, #Transport for #London (TfL), Unite the Union and London’s bus operators have agreed to install modern ventilation and air conditioning in all bus driver cabs that do not meet current standards by the end of May 2027.

    The agreement follows the creation of an Extreme Weather Taskforce, established to improve drivers’ working conditions amid increasingly frequent extreme weather and help futureproof the capital’s bus network.

    Trials are already under way on retrofitted New Routemasters, with testing in service and laboratory conditions helping determine how the systems can be introduced across different bus types. A second vehicle has also been fitted with an alternative system to support the development of a reliable supply chain.

    The taskforce is also examining measures including solar film, improved seating, better extreme weather planning, and access to hydration and welfare facilities.

    @0xabad1dea

    this brings up another subject, if one should even consider public transport or rather continue to congest and pollute the cities with one's own car.

    I'd choose independence and use my own car, as do millions others.

    #TfL introduced changes to discretionary fees for Oyster cards, concessionary photocards and lost property retrieval in 2025, citing inflation and the need to improve financial sustainability. Standard and Visitor Oyster card fees increased from £7 to £10 from 7 September. From 22 July, Zip, student, apprentice and care leaver photocard fees rose by £1, while 60+ London Oyster Photocard fees increased from £20 to £35 for new applications and from £10 to £18 for replacements and annual checks. Lost property retrieval fees rose to £25 for high-value technology, £15 for bulky or medium items and £6 for other items. TfL expected the changes to raise £13.7m a year. Equality assessments found potential impacts on low-income customers, older people, young people, disabled people and those without access to banking or contactless payments, but noted that concessionary #travel benefits remained unchanged.
