c2c #Railway has secured full re-accreditation under the Safer Railway Scheme (SRS), achieving 88% in its latest safeguarding assessment. The scheme, run by the #British #Transport Police and Department for Transport, assesses how train operators protect vulnerable people across the rail network. The accreditation, valid for two years, saw c2c score 129.5 out of 148, including full marks for colleague training and its response to vulnerability and victims of crime. The operator said the result reflects the work of frontline staff and its partnerships with organisations including WalkSafe, Samaritans, Mind, Stamp Out Spiking and White Ribbon. British Transport Police also recognised the contribution of c2c’s safeguarding and security team. The result places GBR Anglia, which includes c2c, Greater Anglia and Network Rail Anglia, among the UK’s highest-performing rail regions for safeguarding.

The Mayor of London and #Transport for #London are encouraging people to use buses and trams to explore the capital this summer as the new Weekend Hopper launches on 25 July. Running on Saturdays, Sundays and the August bank holiday Monday until 31 August, the scheme allows unlimited bus and tram travel for the price of a single £1.75 fare each day. The existing Hopper fare, offering unlimited journeys within one hour, remains in place, while the £1.75 bus and tram fare freeze has been extended until 1 November 2026. London children and young people with a valid Zip Oyster photocard continue to travel free, while under-16 visitors can travel free on buses throughout August under the Government’s Great British Summer Savings Scheme. #TfL is also promoting leisure bus routes and the expanding Superloop network.
