  6. railway station is being rebuilt, but the signage is appalling and you just have to wander around at random to find your way in. I know it's difficult when you're rebuilding a station in the middle of a city but they really have made so little effort.

    The provision on the train was clearly designed and installed by someone who has never actually seen a .

  7. Dear "Fellow Motorists", please obey yield signs even when a bicycle is the oncoming traffic on the road you are turning on to. I don't enjoy swerving out of the way of a Land Rover and faceplanting Mechants Road at 11:45 in the morning. Have a very bloody and possibly broken nose, been to Dr, losing a workday, otherwise OK.

  8. 🇮🇪 #Irish Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien has published the final progress report on the National Sustainable #Mobility Policy Action Plan 2022–2025, reporting substantial progress across its 91 actions.

    Around 70% of actions have been delivered, with remaining measures being carried forward under the 2026–2030 plan and other Government programmes. Key achievements include more than 185 new or enhanced public transport services linking over 240 towns and villages, 1,000km of new or upgraded walking and cycling infrastructure, and 53% of State-subsidised urban bus fleets in #Cork, #Galway, #Limerick and #Waterford moving to low- or zero-emission vehicles.

    More than 500 bus shelters were installed, wheelchair-accessible vehicles increased by over 25%, and PSO passenger numbers rose by more than 35% compared with 2018. The #Government said continued investment will support a more sustainable, inclusive and accessible #transport system.

  10. Galway’s a confusing town! The Dublin bus goes from the Coach Station but the Ennis bus goes from the Bus Station! Just ask anyone where the coach station is and they’ll send you to the bus station (except that with luck the person next to them will say “No! The coach stion is *that* way!”

  15. 🇮🇪 The National #Transport Authority (NTA) has released its 2025 Annual Report and Financial Statements, marking a record year for public transport in Ireland with over 363 million passenger journeys completed across TFI services.

    Key infrastructure and service milestones achieved in 2025 included Railway Order approvals for Luas Finglas and DART+ Coastal North, the opening of Woodbrook DART Station, and final approvals for Core Bus Corridor Schemes. #Dublin saw the launch of the BusConnects E-Spine and F-Spine alongside the deployment of 124 electric #buses, whilst the SPSV fully electric vehicle fleet expanded by 25%. In regional areas, planning was approved for the BusConnects #Galway Dublin Road Transport Corridor, and 36 new or enhanced bus routes were launched under the Connecting #Ireland Rural Mobility Plan. The NTA also upgraded its organisational operations with a new finance system.
