  1. Maynooth is 45 min from Dublin city by commuter rail and might be my favorite photowalk in the country: an ivy-covered university campus, a ruined castle, and fields of wildflowers, all walkable from the station.

Howth on the DART gets you cliff walks and a ferry to Ireland's Eye for birding.

Galway, two and a half hours west, has a river running straight through a university town that turns red with ivy in autumn. Full train guide: travel.sidewalksafari.com/irel

  2. 602 miles from Co. Antrim to Mayo and Galway and back in weather that was multo scorchio 🌞 Incredible roads and some cracking beers #Ireland #Mayo #Galway #Connemara #biking

  3. Ah, internet is back in the town! Yesterday we were thrown back to the dark ages when the shop could only accept cash, the bottle return machine was hopelessly lost and at the hostel we were forced to talk to each other! #TheHorror

Now I’ll be able to show a bit of #Inishbofin !

  4. Slowly getting into the rhythm of #travel, unfortunately it’s only a week long ‘taster’ of #Ireland. Never been before properly and I already know I should return for a longer trip.

Today: the ferry to Inishbofin island. That may be a tautology, I suspect Inish to mean Island (confirm?). Knowing the wonderfully strange film The Banshees of Inishirin…

    Now, off to the ferry!

  5. Looks like some towns in #Connemara will have their speed limits lowered to 30 from the end of March.

Insert melodramatic gibberish here about how "ZOMG teh road wilbe undriveabelell!!11!!"...like an extra 10 minutes to go through Barna would make *that* much difference.

  6. One of the fabulous beaches in Ireland. I think this one is somewhere within the wonderful Connemara region.

  7. Screebe Fishing Hut at Sunset

My first time visiting the famous fishing hut at Screebe in Connemara was last night, when we were blessed with an evening without even a breeze to disturb the water.

Unfortunately, there was an excess of low cloud, with a cloud bank at the horizon that swallowed the sun at the horizon behind the house, but by moving around we caught a break and saw a lovely yellow glow in the distance.
