Yay! I just finished step 1 of my sheepdog plate. The carving. Now it’s going to dry sloooowly - and then into the kiln!
The dog will look a lot more like a sheepdog once I glaze it with black and white.
This is a new experimental process for me (combining my tile and printmaking techniques for a plate). Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I'm happy to have the roof of the house carved out, with the three sheep. All that is left is the sheep dog, who is the star of the show.
There is a sweet spot between being too wet and too dry and right now, I'm on the borderline of being too dry. So I am going to Wrap it up in plastic again and hopefully rehydrate the clay so that I could do some more work.

In the mid-2000s, I created a comic strip series about a Scottish sheep and mole, using toon-style rendering in 3ds Max. The comic was published in a Dutch newspaper (NRC.next).
When I made this in 2007, I didn't know that this subject would sadly become more and more relevant with time. 😔

Our whole front yard is a puddle after all the rain yesterday.
Today is supposed to be cloudy, but it’s still drizzling.
Ozzie the #alpaca is very wet, Chaser was on the concrete block when I threw over the lucerne bricks, but started finding a path between the backyard pools of water.
Even the #sheep with all their lanolin look wet.
