🇮🇪 Iarnród Éireann has retained the #Business Working Responsibly Mark, Ireland’s leading sustainability certification, following an assessment by Business in the Community #Ireland (BITCI), independently verified by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI).

The three-year certification recognises progress across environmental, social, economic and governance priorities. Highlights include sustainability requirements in all tenders, €1.1m in annual water savings, the use of 100% HVO in on-track maintenance vehicles, and €5m in annual savings at Drogheda Repair Shop through extending asset life and reusing train parts.

The company is also expanding biodiversity measures, with pollinator plans at more than 60 stations, while investing in accessibility, inclusion and rail infrastructure. Its long-term strategy aims to support 80 million passenger journeys a year by 2030.
