#Acrobat (and I think Preview as well) seems to prefer continuous page layout mode as the automatic setting. I don't want to change the default to single page because that would affect PDFs that were saved in two-up mode. I wish Acrobat's Automatic layout mode could be set to prefer single page instead of continuous but only if a two-up mode wasn't already saved for the document.

if anyone else is unreasonably* annoyed by #Acrobat Reader automatically opening #PDF files downloaded from the web, Teams, etc even when it is not the default app, you can disable it in Preferences > General > "Always open PDFs saved from the web" (and other nearby checkboxes).

*-It is entirely reasonable actually. I wish I could uninstall this entire program...

Eine der letzten offenen Fragen der Menschheit ist geklärt! Es heißt eine PDF, also DIE PDF(-Datei) und nicht DAS PDF.

Das meint zumindest Adobe im Menü der aktuellen Acrobat-Version. Wobei, ehrlich gesagt, die Übersetzungen bei Adobe schon viele Merkwürdigkeiten hervorgebracht haben und das nach dem nächsten Update auch schon wieder anders aussehen kann…

Interesting observation - after growing exceedingly tired of Acrobat trying to interject AI in every menu and screen, I went into the preferences and turned it all off.
Suddenly, the finnicky Reading Order tool quit acting so strange, and the erratic tag panel behavior seems to have stopped as well.
Is Acrobat tanking the user experience in an effort to force its AI on the user?

I use dark mode as much as possible on my Windows PC, Pixel phone, and iPads because of vision problems that make viewing a white screen difficult. Some apps make using dark mode easy; some don't. Acrobat Reader is one of the latter.
