    So, energy crisis in Europe, In Belgium, left parties - rightfully - say that the government makes profits (taxes, excises), the National Bank of Belgium tempers, "this is not that simple".

    We are at 2.30eur/l (55% increase!)
    I don't even speak about gas.

    Also, in Belgium, if costs increase, government increases public sector wages and social welfare....
    If Belgian citizen reduce their consumption, what they do usually, it's a lost of revenue...

    Reduce public sector spending! There are just too much government employees with too much privileges anyway and negative return in delivery.

    Then you have this "blackmail":
    The gov can't be in a position where they loan to their "children" to pay the fuel of their "parent".

    This is so sick.
