Ship-Shaped Cup
This tabletop cup, shaped like a ship on wheels, was crafted from a nautilus shell by the Nuremberg goldsmith Hans Antoni Lind between 1603 and 1609.
Today, this remarkable shell cup is housed in the Grünes Gewölbe (Green Vault) in Dresden.

The Central Pacific Railroad Truckee Snowsheds. I'm not sure when the concrete sheds were erected, but this section, of the now abandoned First Transcontinental railroad route (ca. 1869), crested the Sierra near Donner Summit. It was in use until the mid-20th century when an alternative, less steep route was opened.
