I did my third mutual aid table today. This time, instead of setting up in the park, I set-up on the court square at the center of town under a nice shade tree. I gave away half of my clothes and talked to 5 folks. One of them didn't want any clothes. She was curious and has extra clothing in storage that she plans to bring to me.
Of the 4 folks that I had a full conversation with all of them unreservedly expressed anti-capitalist and anti-government sentiment. They took the anti-capitalist and anarchist literature I offered. I got ZERO pushback upon mentioning that I was an anarchist and socialist. This is rural, small-town #Missouri. But these folks that are stopping to talk are also working class folks.
I'm more convinced than ever that rural areas, poor and working class, deserve the attention of anarchist organizers. We can't ignore the #workingclass of #rural middle America. This should be a hot bed of #radical organizing.

A good week for my local organizing efforts. We had our first study group for Howard Zinn's People's History of the US at the local library with 9 folks including myself in attendance. We'll be meeting monthly.
I set up the second Mutual Aid distro today at the Fredericktown city park where I gave away 3 shirts and had an excellent conversation with a fellow that bucked the stereotype of small town rural MO folks. Echoing last week's conversations, he was not shy about his anti-capitalism and the opposition to the state. When he saw that I had a table full of anarchist literature he just smiled and nodded.

Lovely walk with my two charges this morning. Old girl Coco is definitely slowing down & young Ozy is calming down, although he still thinks every drain, hollow or hole is a home to rabbits & wants to investigate each & every one!
I didn’t leave home until about 8.30am as it was pretty cold out there & only 6c when we left anyway. Had to pivot from the route I planned as when I turned the first corner I saw a very large dog out & about on its own at the end of the road & looking alertly at us! Gave me to heebies so we turned back & took another route towards the outskirts of Chiltern, then round & down through the town to the park & reserve. 5kms all up & both dogs have now had breakfast & are snoozing. Just waiting to be picked up by a friend to go to Rutherglen for lunch. #HouseSit #PetSit #Rural -
