  1. Almost done watching the solar eclipse from our beach 🤩 beautiful moment to enjoy! Tried to capture some shots through the googles with my phone 🤭 A shame with all the clouds in the end, but worth going!

  2. Big Walk: Charming Co-Op Romp With Humanoid Things 🚶🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

This is a charming co-op adventure game by small Melbourne-based Australian indie team House House, the guys responsible for the unexpected 2019 smash hit Untitled Goose Game.

For the last six years they’ve been hard at work on Big Walk, which is an online game where you adventure around and solve puzzles with your friends. Maximum chill? Pretty much, but with added sunsets.

Time for Chilled Adventures in Big Walk

Yeah, so this launched on 4th August 2026 and is available on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, macOS, and Steam (PC). Fantastically, you can do cross-platform play if your friends don’t have, say, a Switch 2 but a stupid woopid GayStation Poo lol lol lol etc.

The goal of it all? To hang out with your real life friends and solve puzzles and stuff. A group of players (up to 12) are let loose in an open-world environment where you wander around, take in the sights, solve puzzles, work together in harmony.

You control these humanoid objects that are a bit birdlike. You have arms and can wander around interacting with things, but the main goal is to solve puzzles through teamwork. You do this with communication:

    • Miming
    • Singing
    • Transmitting codes
    • Walkie talkies
    • Pointing

Once you complete puzzles, you open up new areas of the world and can go off exploring some more. Behold!

Yeah, so you have to play this with other people or it doesn’t work. Thus, if you’re struggling to get anyone you know to play it (like we did), just find some groups online who are happy to share a group code with you.

Once you’re in it’s all a heaping bunch of fun. We can particularly imagine this being a glorious game for adults to play with their kids, as it requires teamwork, communication, and brain power. A great way to socialise.

Big Walk received instant critical acclaim and is already considered one of the best games of 2026.

It’s very relaxing and charming and a game to totally lose yourself in. There’s a defined ending, so nothing drags on forever with it. But there’s also the capacity to just lounge around, relax, and enjoy the sunsets. All very lovely.

And Let Us Celebrate Big Walk’s Glorious Soundtrack

The lovely score is by composers Sam Gill and Luke Neher, who worked under the name AKSFX. They duo really went off on one and have created a mass of music for the game.

Big Walk has (wait for it)… NINE separate EPs. Many of these are available for free on YouTube, but you can also get them on Bandcamp, Spotify, and other streaming services. Each LP covers around 15 minutes of musical mayhem.

It’s a relaxing and joyous time of it, really channelling into the offbeat nature of the game. We’ve seen it become a big talking point on social media (the good bits of social media where we hang out) amongst fans.

Listen, enjoy, and bask in the chill factor.

  6. Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a Charming Time of it, Mon ☃️

The Moomins series by Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson continues to find new leases of life, here with the charming Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth. It launched in April 2026 and is currently available on Steam and the Nintendo Switch.

Jansson’s series is much beloved for many generations, with a world she created in a kind of white hippopotamus clan who live in Moominvalley. This game continues the story, with its wintery setting offering fun for all ages.

Adventures in the Snow for Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth

Norwegian indie game dev Hyper Games is responsible for this, with its studio in Oslo. This is the second Moomins game the studio has worked on, the first was 2024’s well received Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley (which we ain’t played yet).

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth uses a watercolour style that’s dreamy to look at and fits the game’s atmosphere perfectly. It’s also the ideal homage to Jansson’s artistic style.

And this game is directly adapted from her sixth book: Moominland Midwinter (1957).

Although it does adapt the story a bit, the core plot is still there. Moomintroll awakes from a winter hibernation. He heads outside (wearing suitable winter warming clothes, but of course!) and meets all sorts of fun characters on the adventures that follow.

This is an adventure game, by genre, just one that’s not very demanding. You can take your time with it, enjoy the sights, and lark about in the snow.

There’s about four and a half hours of gameplay time here and it’s all time well spent, too. Winter’s Warmth is super charming and a relaxing game for all ages, mixing simple puzzle solving alongside its narrative arc.

Again, not very demanding as a gameplay experience. It’s more of a meditative game that’s grounded in the often rather delightful Moomin world. And it does look fantastic.

Add into the mix composer Joar Renolen’s beautiful, ambient score and you’ve really got a laidback winner here.

The story is about personal growth, by the way, as Moomintroll is initially nervous about his early hibernation awakening. He doesn’t recognise the world he’s so used to as it’s all covered in show.

But as he ventures out and discovers things, he gets used to it, his confidence grows, and he embraces the change (whilst making friends along the way).

Great themes, then, especially for younger players. It’s a relaxing and fabulous experience, one you can enjoy playing with your kids (if you have any) or by yourself as a cantankerous and cynical old bastards (like we are). ☃️

  10. Rainy Days (WIP)

When conceptualizing this song, I made a rule for myself that in order to capture the authentic rainy day vibe, I would only work on the song when it was raining. Today it rained again, so I got a couple more phrases written.
