Another try, Another cry
Or is this post a time robbing crime?
Today kicks off another season for excitement, frustration, unhealthy snacks and ROLL TIDE FOOTBALL !!!
Here we go Willie! Another year of high hopes, spilt tears and a championship up for grabs, good luck.

I have many years I would want to relive so I could make the changes that affect the present but there is a haunting thought in the dark recess of my mind telling me this is the major one. With that said I guess today’s answer would be 1982. This is the year I got married, and started my over the road career in earnest. I won’t go into detail but there it is.

This weekend your challenge is to write a poem or a piece of prose in exactly 90 words using the word “Trade”.In the gist of life’s journey I often gripe about the present affairs
I stopped to smell a lilac today and it flooded my memories, taking me back to a time in life where I had nothing to gripe about. The purple flower was a symbol of love and beauty that my mother told me was the gist of life. I was maybe five or six at the time and I wouldn’t trade that memory for anything this world has to offer in these modern times. Memories like these grip my heart strings and gently tug at them bringing tears to my eyes.

India Safari Holiday Tours: A Complete Guide to India’s Wild Side
India's wildlife is not the wide-open savannah of Africa, and that is exactly what makes it so fascinating. Here, a safari can take you through sal forests, dry grasslands, bamboo thickets and wetlands where a tiger may appear without warning. For travellers planning an India safari holiday, the experience is about far more than spotting a Bengal tiger. It can include leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, crocodiles, hundreds of bird species and the landscapes and communities that surround […]https://indiasafaristrends.wordpress.com/2026/08/22/india-safari-holiday-tours/

It’s a Start
No title, no inspiration, no direction, but I do have coffee so it’s a start.
I haven’t floated over to reader yet today. Finished with the mail and fake news over on MS which didn’t take very long. The weather is in a sweet spot for the next couple of days but is supposed to warm back up next week and today is slowly forming into a ‘Get er done’ or ‘fuck it’ kind of day.
I’m choosing the former for now.
https://booomcha.com/2026/07/get-to-know-you-98/1. What tiny inconvenience instantly ruins your mood more than it should?
A1 – People interrupting others while they are talking. Wait until the other person is finished before opening your piehole to breathe hot air that’s meaningless.
2. What’s a smell you’d bottle if you could, even though no one else would understand why?
A2 – Wild onions, I don’t know why but I love the smell.
3. What’s a habit you have that would confuse an alien observing you?
A3 – Extending my finger for a tug, it would be fun to get them to pull my finger and farting. I’m thinking they wouldn’t understand the humor.Okay that’s a start. The coffee is beginning to open my eyes a little more and I feel the gears starting to grind in the dust collector between my ears. I found a title, a small bit of inspiration {thanx sis} but the u turns of a dawgs delusion is still escaping me.
The direction I should be moving into is practicing my singing but I’m not feeling it yet today. Actually I’m not feeling this post either so maybe my direction is moving over to the ‘fuck it’ side of life. Time for a nicotine stick.
That was a refreshing break. The big ball of fire spreading vitamin D upon me helped kick the coffee in and I came back in with a fresh mindset. No more bad attitude for a while anyway. I’m going to shut off the phone, kick up my excuse of a recording booth and piss myself off as I try to sing in tune. Practice makes for an interesting day.
Humble beginnings, Electric Evolution’s studio aka The Dawg DiveI am hoping to get at least three songs done this weekend so I can put them on Cambrians’ web site. I am hoping that the developer can help me with getting signed in, a glitch when I signed up is preventing me from finishing my profile which in turn won’t let me upload any info or songs to the platform.
I believe this new site is a great thing for an AI enthusiast such as me. This is a site geared towards people engaging with AI to make music. Most of what I’ve heard over there is all AI for now but I expect it to migrate into fools like me that sing with the generated music. I wish Logan the best of luck moving forward with this original one of a kind site.
With that I will close this ramble and turn to barking loud and proud through the pioneer. Peace & love for the weekend, Ernie Dawg.

Anything after 1980 makes my teeth hurt. But there's no denying the commerical success of Escape released on July 17, 1981. I mean, it even made the final scene of The Sopranos, for crissakes.

Sing to me of the man, Muse, the man of twists and turns …

Many cities of men he saw and learned their minds,
many pains he suffered, heartsick on the open sea,
fighting to save his life and bring his comrades home.

Visual Art Interpretation – My Hopes and Dreams for the Next Year
This feels less like a list of resolutions than a marquee-map of my identity and desire: a radiant, hand-made 2027 filled not so much with tasks to accomplish as with the people, callings, loves, and practices that make my life feel alive.
The bright red border and repeated golden lights give it the appearance of a theater sign, a carnival ride, or an illuminated road. It seems to announce the year joyfully: Here is what I hope will shine. But inside that celebratory outline, the words do not sit neatly in straight lines. They curve, turn, reverse, overlap, and require the eye to travel. That seems important. My hopes are not separate boxes. Pastor, husband, author, musician, PeaceGrooves creator, friend, artist, woodworker, child of God—all of these identities wind through and around one another.
The words I placed inside the year—Sing, Play, Memories, God, Laugh, Journey, Pastor, Author, Husband, PeaceGrooves, Friends, Art, Church, Love, Woodcraft—are striking to me because so many of them are relational or creative. Even the roles are not primarily about achievement. Author is near Husband. Pastor winds along the same road as Journey. PeaceGrooves circles alongside Friends, Church, Love, and creativity. I did not imagine the coming year as productivity alone. I imagined it as belonging, expression, vocation, joy, and connection.
The Word I Did Not Write
After finishing the piece, I realized that I did not write health or healing anywhere inside it. Those things matter deeply to me, especially in light of some of the physical concerns and uncertainties I have been carrying. And yet, perhaps their absence does not mean they were forgotten. Perhaps I instinctively wrote the life I hope healing will allow me to continue inhabiting.
I did not write healing, but I wrote Sing-Play: the hope that my body and spirit can still release themselves into music.
I wrote Laugh: the hope for lightness, delight, and joy.
I wrote Journey: the hope that I can continue moving forward.
I wrote Husband and Friends: the hope of remaining present in love and relationship rather than retreating into worry or isolation.
I wrote Pastor and Church: the hope that I can continue serving meaningfully among people.
I wrote Art, Author, Woodcraft, and PeaceGrooves: the hope that creativity will continue flowing through me rather than being swallowed up by discouragement, exhaustion, or fear.
Perhaps healing is everywhere in this drawing without having been named. It is hidden beneath almost every word: Let me be well enough, free enough, encouraged enough, and alive enough to keep inhabiting these loves.
But perhaps the omission also tells me something tender and difficult about myself. When I think about the future, I often think first about what I can give, create, serve, love, and build. I may not always think first about what I need. This picture invites me to remember that somewhere in the glowing year ahead, there must also be room for my own care. I am not only the husband, pastor, artist, author, musician, friend, and creator. I am also a person who needs healing, rest, gentleness, and grace.
The Smear Between Author and Husband
One of the small accidents in the piece occurred in the space between Author and Husband. Water smeared the color there, and I had to cover it as best I could. I was mostly able to hide the mistake, though I know it happened. I know that beneath the finished surface there is a place where the colors once ran together in a way I did not intend.
That accidental smear now feels strangely meaningful. Author and Husband are two of my most intimate identities: the part of me that creates worlds and gives language to inner experience, and the part of me that shares an actual life in love and covenant with another person. Perhaps those two identities were never meant to be sharply separated. My writing rises from my lived relationships, from tenderness, memory, fear, faith, longing, disappointment, and love. And my creative life inevitably spills into the life I share with my wife.
The water touched the border between those words, and I tried to repair it. That is not a failure of the picture. It may be one of the most honest parts of it. Life does not remain perfectly inside the lines. The roles I care most about do not remain untouched by mess, vulnerability, or accident. Sometimes the colors run together. Sometimes I try to cover what went wrong. Sometimes a trace remains, visible mostly to me.
Yet I did not throw the picture away. I continued working on it. I allowed the imperfection to become part of the finished whole.
Perhaps that is an image of grace. A life of grace is not a life where nothing ever gets smeared. It is a life in which even the smeared places can be incorporated into the beauty.
Church: Almost Illegible
I also noticed that Church almost looks like “Churgh.” It is there, but it is not the clearest or most immediately readable word. That, too, feels symbolic.
Church is deeply present in my hopes for the coming year. It is part of who I am, part of my calling, part of my relationship with God and with community. But church is not always simple or perfectly clear. It can be difficult to read. It can be beautiful and messy, life-giving and exhausting, sacred and profoundly human all at once.
In this picture, church does not appear by itself in a clean, isolated space. It is crowded into a circling path alongside other words: Love, Friends, Art, perhaps even the movements of creativity and ministry surrounding it. That seems truthful. For me, church is not separate from love, friendship, art, imagination, service, or reconciliation. It is entangled with them.
The fact that the word is only almost clear may express something I feel: church is something I continue to believe in and belong to, while also still trying to see clearly. It is present. It matters. It is part of the year I hope to live. But it is not polished or uncomplicated.
Perhaps that is what makes it real.
The Shape of the Year
The large number itself is not simply filled in. It becomes a winding course. The words curve around turns and corners; some appear upright from one angle and upside down from another. To read the whole image, I almost have to rotate it, follow it, and let my eyes travel through it.
That feels like an honest representation of the year ahead. I do not know exactly how it will unfold. My hopes do not form a straight road or a neatly numbered plan. They form a brightly lit labyrinth. Something that appears upside down from one position may look different once I travel farther along the curve. Something that seems peripheral now may become central. Something disappointing may redirect me toward an unexpected opening.
This drawing does not say, Here is my plan to master the next year.
It says, Here is the glowing path I hope to inhabit.
That is truer to my life. Music feeds ministry. Woodcraft feeds contemplation. Writing feeds faith. PeaceGrooves gathers together my imagination, my longing for peace, my love of play, and my desire to offer something meaningful to others. Marriage and friendship keep my creative life from becoming merely solitary. Church places my personal dreams within a larger body. God is not outside all these things, looking down upon them from a distance, but present among them.
My life is not a ladder climbing toward a single success. It is a winding, illuminated journey through many loves.
The Lights Around the Border
The repeated yellow bulbs around the border give the piece a vintage, celebratory feeling. They make the year look like something being announced: a show beginning, a stage opening, a bright invitation to enter.
There is something almost exuberant about it. I did not draw a quiet little calendar page or a restrained list of intentions. I drew the year as a spectacle of hope. These dreams are not small to me. They are worthy of light. Music, laughter, love, friendship, art, faith, craft, writing, church, PeaceGrooves—these are not hobbies or decorative extras around the edge of life. They are among the things that make life worth living.
And yet the lights are not machine-perfect. They are hand-drawn. Each one is slightly different. Some are rounder, some rougher, some more irregular. That matters too. The brightness of this coming year is not a slick commercial promise that everything will be perfect. It is the brightness I have carefully drawn around my hopes with my own imperfect hand.
Most moving of all, the lights continue around the bends. They do not shine only along the smooth or impressive stretches. They follow the narrow turns, the dips, the places where the shape curls inward. The light does not abandon the complicated places.
What This Picture Says to Me
This is a picture of my hope not merely to survive another year, but to remain fully myself within it.
I want to sing and play.
I want to laugh.
I want to remember.
I want to journey.
I want to love and be loved.
I want to remain a husband, a pastor, an author, an artist, a craftsman, a musician, a friend, and a dreamer.
I want PeaceGrooves not merely to exist as a project, but to become an expression of something deep within me: my longing to imagine, create, and make peace.
I want God not as an abstract religious idea floating somewhere outside my life, but as a living presence woven among music, love, creativity, friendship, church, memory, laughter, and journey.
And perhaps beneath the entire picture is the word I did not write: wholeness.
Wholeness includes health. It includes healing. But it is larger than both. It is the hope that all these different names for myself will not compete with one another, break apart, or fade away, but somehow curve together into a single radiant life.
The smear between Author and Husband, the almost-illegible Church, the reversed words, the crowded pathways, the uneven bulbs, and the wandering design do not lessen the picture. They make it more truthful.
My hopes for the next year are not cleanly arranged or perfectly protected from mistakes. They are handmade. They are entangled. They are vulnerable. They are colorful. They are imperfect.
And they are still shining.

A Change in the Winds?
This past week, I took a Thursday-Sunday road trip and I brought a total of three watches with me; the baby Alpinist, the Blood Moon (my night watch) and my Falcon.
It was the week for the Alpinist to be on wrist, but when I travel, I like to have at least one option depending on the situation and wardrobe I pack. I packed a couple of shirts (both black with red & white features) that either the Blood Moon or the Falcon wouldn’t clash with, but it turns out that I never took the Alpinist off for the whole trip, even for bed.
I never even wore the two shirts I planned on wearing that would have clashed with the Alpinist. I actually wore a t-shirt I don’t usually wear in public and a road trip themed shirt made specifically for this trip in order to keep the Alpinist on wrist all week.
Does this mean I don’t like my Falcon any more? I don’t think so (I will be participating in @Aurelian’s #1wc with the Falcon), but it does open the door to the question, right? Maybe I just figured I was going to get a lot of wrist time for the Falcon soon, I typically always wear the Blood Moon to sleep and just didn’t want to shirk on wrist time for the Alpinist and it’s as simple as that?
Whatever it means regarding the Falcon, I know what it means for the Alpinist; it’s not leaving the collection. After I won it as a door prize at a meetup, I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it because I wasn’t even looking to add a new watch to the collection. In fact, I’m trying to downsize it to 10 watches & this complicates that. The heart wants what the heart wants though, I suppose.
Do you have a watch that entered your collection unexpectedly and earned its way into a permanent spot?

I am writing an open letter to the #fediverse #administration and #moderation community, because you need to keep a few things in mind.
Lately I have started noticing some #fediverse #relays disable this instance in the server logs.
It seems like #censorship is alive and well. Whether it be #language or #geography based.
I will say this once.
I have no issue at all with #international content. In fact I encourage it. And I am working on a #translation enabled client for #Mastodon to release as #open #source #software, so that anyone can interact with any #ActivityPub #server out there, to not exclude entire swaths of #audience reach, that would and currently still is, isolated by regional and not human #diversity as such.
To be clear. I do not want to #expose #racism to the world. I want to move beyond that, to create ways by which #inclusive dialog can transcend #world #borders few want you to never forget.
To do that, we will at some point or other have to talk about some concepts that would otherwise never find common resolution in the mind of the everyday person. And I am open to hosting that.
I simply want to put our humanity first, the way the open #internet prior to any concept of #weaponization, was designed to build conceptually. Before bots, automation and spam ruined the experience of the pre-web 2.0 internet. To the point where marking anything as either or, gets you silenced before you remember you once weren't.
Speaking on a personal level, I make mistakes in my ability to just post before I #think about things. I cannot premoderate everything I say to the point where it comes across as neutral or distant, as if I never bothered to go through the experience. And I admit I am and can be at #fault for that. But what I cannot #apologize for, is why I #feel the way I do. In order to clear my #mind my #head, and my #heart for better #times and #memories I can more clearly #focus on. And this is what #inspires me to keep things moving along such a trajectory.
I can't be #positive or #negative all the time. I will just be #real, and let the #moment pass. In #trust that you're with me for whatever part of that #journey comes our way.
I do'nt want us separated by preventable alternatives that bring us closer together. That is my ultimate #purpose as to why I am making this post.
With this in mind, I myself have a tendency to be the only one posting on this server...but if you want to join us, and speak in your own language or talk about issues that matter to you...then by all means, go for it.
I am doing the same here, not to get attention, but to find #community so we can bond over things held in common, not broken by common disinterest. And I have largely been very #successful at this both on other platforms, and by sticking to topics at hand in more traditional forums.
The truth of the matter, is that we have a critical shortage of relays in the fediverse active at any one time. Until recently we have been fortunate here at #MediaNexus to have over 70 enabled instances, this has dropped since to the late 60's since reports started coming in criticizing just one post about the #war I have made, calling out a commentator for their views.
We can't always #agree on things. But we can ensure that we stand for the principle of an agreement not to break down over the disagreements of a few people, who just can't get along no matter how you approach them.
Guys, we need #decentralized #media now more so than ever before. It is not about monitoring for dangerous opinions. I don't want to live in an echo chamber. IF that's what you want, then I suggest you visit #BlueSky for that.
And so this is not about what I want. I have no #agenda to share. Just a simple message. Layered in #truth and #growth of either #awareness or #news that isn't 100% reliant on one person's understanding to be amplified by 1000000 more as their own, holey so.
In part, while we live in an age of alternate #information being so readily available. Even about the same exact #post generating different #analysis by whoever is looking at it from multiple perspectives. We cannot mix #facts with #fiction where #events count objectively.
Losing access to one #relay especially using platforms like #pleroma and #mastodon, potentially means dozens of your available #updates as your #content gets published, cannot be seen. And, I am asking on behalf of all #sane server owners out there, to stand in solidarity with one another for the sake of our continuity. So that one link in our chain, does not and cannot cripple its #functionality anymore. To the point where nodes are centralized around #ideals not #ideas in turn.
Please, mention me in any #disagreement you may have. We are #humans not #bots at the end of the day. And a lot of us pay really good #money to #hosting companies to be able to critically customize our experience on the deecentralized web. Myself included.
We don't do that because it's cool. We do that, because we trust in all of you to uphold this #principle of our continuity as a whole. At the federation, relay, server instance, and user level.
Media Nexus is very young. And I have only managed to get 5 people to sign up because of the common culture I would otherwise not have been able to share as we explore the world we each live in collectively.
As an #important #introduction to the wider reach of independent blogs and forums, I started this server, not to compete with others, but to ensure that we treat this entire medium of #communication like a single #torrent in great health.
I have no interest by and large, in running a #social #media company for the sake of establishing a #network of random people who otherwise have nothing in common accept liking the interface by which we share are thoughts with one another. Although I will admit that's half the fun in making this possible.
In order for us to #work together, I have to imagine we already are doing so even if we never met in person.
Due to the abundant use of platforms widely available for #engagement of various purposes, all I can offer you, is access to someone who puts humanity first. Not by trend, but by principle. That's not just me, that's all of you that believe we are stronger together. Posting just as you do, for being all that you are, where ever your sense of community feels most comfortable belonging there.
No matter who reads this letter, I #support you in all that you do, even if there are times where we have to talk about why we matter to one another. The fact that it can happen at all, is a #miracle I will always #cherish and #embrace while I am alive on this Earth. Because everyone, even you, play a part in our experience in this way. And I wouldn't trade or exchange that for anything.
I #love you for the #person you are, as you become involved in your journey of #life here. And likewise, appreciate you for caring about your place in our world. And as I said above, I only wish for us to find common ground on things we in turn find interesting enough to boost, favorite, and reply to. Whether that's a poll, a photo, or a news article.
I know this post is getting quite long. But there are #reasons why I have to personally speak up about this. As someone who only started their journey on any kind of federated platform let alone hosting one at the beginning of March of this year, following the #tech news of very unsettling feedback. I cannot in good #faith abandon the #philosophy of things that go #viral, because they're #genuine and #free enough to be #authentic and original. And to me, it absolutely #matters that we remember how to #teach this to our #friends and #family as a whole. Less we forget how to #remember our meaning in a world we can still #save from the #absence of all that brings our #presence into #power in turn.
It starts with the #recognition that to deny anyone based on the #group of a sub culture someone belongs to, is a slippery slope of a #sincere and #honest diversion I cannot support.
Thank you for your #attention to this matter.
If this #resonates with you, or even if it does not, let me know.
Yours with warm #appreciation and #gratitude abounding,
Elshara Silverheart

Vision du Reel – I lost view of the Landscape
Reading Time: 2 minutes
I watched J’ai perdu de vue le paysage at Vision Du Réel last week and I don't know whether I like or dislike this documentary, ironically for the very topic that it is exploring. The idea of the eternal return, repeated over, and over.
The premise of the documentary was simple. "I have a neighbour and I want to make a documentary about him preparing his next show", except that inspiration is hard to find, and then the pandemic comes in and scuppers plans for the show to take place, and then there is uncertainty during lockdowns, and the wait for public life to be rebooted, and then the show takes place.
The style of the documentary reminds me of Herzog, as the documentary maker is present in shot regularly, and becomes a growing part of the documentary.
"I'm struggling with this phrase, can you help me?" so they look at the phrase, and they can't tell what it's about. It's a documentary split into 21 or so parts, if I remember correctly. We return eternally to "I wanted to make a documentary about A but..." and then it brings the story forward, over and over. It repeats.
If you're familiar with observational documentary then you are familiar with the idea that the film maker should not get involved with the subject, and might even try to avoid eye contact.
This documentary breaks that rule. She falls pregnant with his child, and that becomes part of the story. Remember, this was shot during lockdown so rules and conventions do not apply like they might have. When people were trapped, and isolated attitudes changed.
This is not a moral judgement. This was to setup the description of a shot I like. They are in the room, conversing with the actors to explore how to bring the play to life. The key person is sitting, with his child. The camera starts from a wide shot and zooms in over a period of time until the child is fully in frame, reacting to the grown ups. It's a nice shot, and situation.
I feel that I should watch LA Tea Time before judging the latest documentary. I worry that because I already watched two long documentaries before this one I might have been fatigued and in need of a break. What I hold against the film now, is precisely the purpose of the film. To explore the eternal return.
I feel, that, if I watched LA Tea Time, and then considered the new film I would see it in a more positive light. I like Cinéma Verité and observational cinema, but I don't really like the Herzog style of documentary. I like Michael Moore and Louis Theroux so it's not the style I don't like.
I suspect that I would have enjoyed this documentary more if it was the first or second of the day. I think that by being the third documentary I watched on that day it tarnished my appreciation of the film. I don't want to be negative about this film but it's the only one I didn't appreciate as much.
I want to believe that I just felt fatigue.

Quote of the day, 10 April: Jessica Powers
I love Abraham, that old weather-beaten
unwavering nomad; when God called to him,
no tender hand wedged time into his stay.
His faith erupted him into a way
far-off and strange. How many miles are there
from Ur to Haran? Where does Canaan lie,
or slow mysterious Egypt sit and wait?
How could he think his ancient thigh would bear
nations, or how consent that Isaac die,
with never an outcry nor an anguished prayer?
I think, alas, how I manipulate
dates and decisions, pull apart the dark,
dally with doubts here and with counsel there,
take out old maps and stare.
Was there a call at all, my fears remark.
I cry out: Abraham, old nomad you,
are you my father? Come to me in pity.
Mine is a far and lonely journey too.Sister Miriam of the Holy Spirit, O.C.D. (Jessica Powers)
