Glitch

flights are grounded
my wings are clipped
i need to wait a little
longer to start this trip

my future connection
could be in jeopardy
it might be a while
before we're set free

the whims of the divine
are all part of the plan
my life's trajectory is
not in my hands

so i will wait patiently
for the Control Tower's nod
and match my flight to the wind of an all-knowing God

Why on earth would I do that?

In my youth I probably wouldn’t take the time to read it or maybe would believe it was all a BS prank of some kind. I think it would be like today where people photoshop an image and tell you someone in 1928 was holding a cell phone, just unrealistic.

So instead of sending a message back why not step into the time machine and send myself back? IF by some unwritten rule in the fine print I missed that said I couldn’t meet myself back then, then maybe I would leave a note to be seen by my eyes only, but I didn’t see any fine print in the prompt. So…Would I dare to meet my younger self and would my younger self pay attention? I say yes on both accounts as when I was young I paid attention to my elders and I clearly speak what’s on my mind in this, my senile age.

The message? You’ve done an amazing job at surviving the trials you’ve put yourself through so don’t beat yourself up to much along the journey in front of you. Stay true to your heart and keep looking inside for the answers. Maybe in the 80s & 90s quit trying to push the envelope so much but don’t sacrifice the love and excitement you live for. In March of 2007 remember this one important fact, you don’t need to curse the Lord and demand answers you really don’t want to know. In 2015 forgive your family for what they are doing, it won’t matter in the long run and lastly just keep being you, you are mostly content with your life in 2026.

Since Aquarius is your/my birth sign this should be a good choice for you/me to listen to today, and in the future, don’t quit mis-behavin’ entirely and remember “I LOVE YOU DUDE, BARK BARK! “

Pioneer Paws and Play

My four word Sunday.

The coffee has me tuned in so hopefully this is going to be a productive day at the Dawghouse Barking Studio. I spent the morning getting things set up and ready to lay some tracks down. Now I’m waiting on my son to show up and monitor the dials while I howl and bark into the system. [10:30 am]

[3:00 pm]

So Derek showed up and I showed him how to operate the recording equipment through the DAW and the Pioneer rtr. It took awhile but then we spent around 45 minutes dialing in the vocals and music levels separately. Once the line input was set we then fine tuned the mic levels and I attempted my first recording. It sounded like shit let me tell ya {cuz}. I was missing my marks, out of key and forgetting lines and more, a real disaster for sure, but to me it was a valuable experience!

After three runs we took a break for about ten minutes while Derek adjusted some fine tuning then got back into it, I had to adjust my distance from the mic [to close], [to far], kinda like Little Red Riding Hood finding the perfect bowl of porridge. Finding the right distance I then laid a mark on the floor and tried again.

We practiced the song until around 2:30 or so then called it quits for the day. After putting everything away we listened to the tape. Derek was monitoring this all the way and had starred two copies he wanted to hear through speakers instead of headphones.

We discussed the mistakes from both sides and what we can do moving forward but he pointed out how my vocals had changed between the first and last tries. I became more comfortable as I went along and it shows. Although I will never be a musician, I believe I might have a chance of not sounding like a sad hound howling or a drunken karaoke singer when I’m done.

I finished taking out the trash.

I was over in Suno cleaning up some files and deleting my trash. I found a couple of songs that I kept and listened to again, then trashed them. Gazing into the rearview mirror of life is sometimes a fascinating view of the accomplishments I have made but knowing that I can only look in there so long before putting my eyes back on the road in front of me, I found the truth tucked between yesterday and almost.

1 – Sharing pieces of my altered mind through poetry. Weather good or bad I have fun writing whatever comes to mind, be it from my past or just a vivid imagination.
