Three good things from today.
1. I got a free lunch at work! It was yummy Ukrainian food to celebrate one of my coworkers winning our world cup bracket.
2. I got a personal best for number of touches when juggling a soccer ball (letting it bounce once between kicks).
3. My kids have been into making paper airplanes. My younger son has a kit with sheets of paper with designs on them and lines showing where to make the folds. I made a Mean Streak plane. -

Three things that I am grateful for today:
🌺 I woke up feeling so much better than yesterday! Minimal pain, minimal exhaustion, happy.
🌺 The play of light and shadow over the leaves in the woods.
🌺 I vacuumed! For the first time in months (my housekeeper usually vacuums but I felt motivated - for the first time in months) and I moved two heavy recliners and area rugs.

The sound of rain as I lay in bed, adding to my sense of coziness, and gratitude that these days, I have a home.
A cozy blanket. As a disabled guy who is bedbound a lot, I have come to truly appreciate cozy blankets, and comfy pillowcases.
Managing to eat some dinner at last, after being so unwell over the past 24 hours.

Free, frugal, cold plunge footspa, with epsom salts, for my tired feet. You can see a surgical scar on top of my left foot. That's from when a team of surgeons did 3 surgeries, back to back, to correct my rollover polio foot & build a new metal footbridge inside that foot. I have 6 scars on the left foot but you can only see one of them in this photo. I had 30 different surgeries, all polio treatment related, by age 20. I flatlined during 3 of those childhood surgeries & had to be electrocuted back to life, all 3 times. I value life, a lot, because I have almost lost my life multiple times before becoming a full grown adult.

😊 The sounds of a steady rain on the leaves of almost-autumn trees.
😊 Vegetable juice instead of plain tomato juice, the celery really brightens it up.
😊 I did not use my walking stick on our late morning or our late afternoon walks and I did just fine without it.
