🇫🇷 Le 20 septembre 1976, un lundi, il y a donc tout juste 50 ans, s'élançaient les premières rames de métro sur l'axe est-ouest de la capitale belge. Une inauguration qui faisait entrer Bruxelles dans les capitales pourvues d'un métro "lourd".

Depuis 1969, une partie des tunnels déjà construits étaient parcourus par plusieurs lignes de tramways qui rejoignaient alors la surface à l'est pour rejoindre leurs terminus en agglomération. C'est ce qu'on appelle le "pré-métro".

La photo de mes archives a été prise le 4 janvier 2004 peu de temps après l'inauguration du prolongement de la ligne 1B (à l'époque) jusqu'à Erasme qui dispose d'une station en surface.

🇬🇧 On September 20, 1976, a Monday, just 50 years ago, the first underground trains set off on the east-west axis of the Belgian capital. An inauguration which brought Brussels into the capitals equipped with a "heavy" underground.

Since 1969, part of the tunnels already built were used by several tram lines which then joined the surface to continue their journey toward the suburbs. This is called the "pre-metro".

The photo from my archives was taken on January 4, 2004 shortly after the inauguration of the extension of line 1B (at the time) to Erasmus which has a surface station.

🇫🇷 La visite des ateliers des CFL à Luxembourg-Bonnevoie était :

* tip top au niveau organisationel
* hyper intéressante même pour l'amateur aguerri et cheminot que je suis.
* L'occasion de voir que les CFL, malgré leur petite taille sont une entreprise publique performante, innovante, à la pointe et efficiente, n'en déplaise aux chantres néo-libéraux de l'UE et leurs discours que seule la libéralisation peut apporter du bon sur le rail en Europe.

Ainsi, tout au long de la journée, on a pu regarder les trains droit dans les yeux, sous leurs jupes et au coeur de la salle des machines. Ce ne sont que trois photos de la grosse centaine réalisée. Je tâcherai de faire un article de blog plus détaillé et publierai d'autres photos plus tard.

En outre, quelques "goodies" et un support pour smartphone qui est aussi un coussinet anti-stress gagné à la "roue de la fortune" en plus d'un bon d'achat de 5 EUR pour le Cactus Shoppi en gare.

Bref, une chouete journée à l'écart du smartphone et des réseaux et des échanges entre humains, ça fait du bien aussi de temps en temps!

🇬🇧 The visit to the CFL workshops in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie was:

* tip top at the organizational level
* super interesting even for the old amateur and railway worker that I am.
* The opportunity to see that the CFL, despite their small size, is a high-performance, innovative, at the top of the technology and an efficient public company, even if the neo-liberals at the EU say that a liberalized market can bring good things to the rail in Europe.

Thus, throughout the day, we were able to look the trains straight in the eye, under their skirts and in the heart of the engine room. These are just three photos of the hundred or so taken. I will try to do a more detailed blog post and post more photos later.

In addition, some "goodies" and a smartphone holder which is also an anti-stress ball won at the "wheel of fortune" in addition to a 5 EUR voucher for the Cactus Shoppi (a shop at the station).

In short, a nice day away from smartphones and networks and with lots of exchanges between humans, a good thing too!
