Telling people they are being stupid for using app X over your preferred app Y, or OS A instead of OS B (OS B being Linux, let's be real) in the name of #safety, #activism, #privacy, #security or any other reason is actively harmful, you're not helping anybody, and nobody deserves to be called stupid. There's dozens of reasons why people can't, or won't switch, #accessibility being one of them, and if you have the energy to bitch and moan on social media platform ABC about these so-called stupid people, you clearly have enough energy to go lower those entry barriers so please just go do that instead and let people be who they need to be. It’s ridiculous that drivers have to put up with this kind of nonsense for completely ill-conceived ‘safety’ features. The #EU needs to remove this requirement. They have become actual #safety detractors as they cause major distraction. Everything was brought into law without any major public discussion.
I can only guess #Israel company #MobileEye lobbied heavily for this, as they have a virtual monopoly on several aspects.

So, funny story while working at my "dream job" at the local library. A patron came in and wanted to check in some late books. I asked how he was, and he tells me that he and his entire family just recovered from norovirus and having the books around was a godsend. "Great!" I responded, then proceeded to sanitize the book jackets with some alcohol (something I always kept on hand). Apparently, the patron complained to the director, which puzzled me. I guess I should have waited until he left. Oh well. Maybe... And, btw, this was right before Covid. I'll bet my actions don't seem so weird after all.
