Jeszcze jeden kawałek Londynu - okolice Camden Town. Prawie jak w Wenecji;-) Londyn ma całkiem niemało kanałów i jest na nich spory ruch - to było dla mnie dużym zaskoczeniem. No i w przeciwieństwie do Wenecji - na kanałach są śluzy.

Nie, to nie Piotrków;-) To miejsce które pochłonęło mnie od pierwszej wizyty. Bardzo często w wolne niedziele wsiadałem w metro i jechałem na Camden Town po prostu łazić, patrzeć i robić zdjęcia. Jest niesamowicie kolorowe, gwarne, tłoczne i magiczne. Tam zwyczajnie odpoczywałem.
Londyn jest piekielnie męczący jak się w nim mieszka na codzień. Do tego w dużej części po prostu brzydki. Ale ma w sobie takie perełki jak Hyde Park, Richmond Park, czy właśnie Camden Town. Tam się po prostu przepada z kretesem;-)

Agar Grove Estate wins another award
The redevelopment of the Agar Grove Estate has won another award.
Phase 1B of the project, which was completed in 2021, has won a prestigious engineering award. It recently won 2025 CIBSE Building Performance Awards — Project of the Year (Residential). The delay between completion and the award is because the project team had to demonstrate that the building actually performed as well as it was designed to.
This follows on from the similar award won by Phase 1A in 2023. Phase 1A won a UK PassivHaus award in 2021, and the latest stage received PassivHaus certification in 2024.
[PassivHaus is a very energy-efficient design standard, that aims to minimise winter heating, avoid summer overheating, and give good indoor air quality all year round.]
The prize-winning architects, Max Fordham, are based in Camden, with their head office in the Rotunda Building on Gloucester Crescent.

The Cat in the big smoke
There’s something delightfully peculiar about finding a cat on a lead. I spotted these two characters taking a break near Camden Town in London. The scene just screamed to be photographed. The smoke caught in the sunlight and the cat’s nonchalant pose, how could I resist?
It’s a candid shot, of course, and as the photo was taken in 2022. I wonder if they were and are still living in London?
I searched and found this TikTok video from later in 2022, so they were still around there in October that year!
