  1. I don't think I've been grateful to reality before, but I am now.

I'm not clear why, yet the feeling is embodied: I feel myself smiling on the inside just because I exist.

  2. IEP:n entry skientismistä yllätti positiivisesti.

    iep.utm.edu/scientism/

  4. AI YOU CAN PUT DOWN 💎

This TED talk by Scott Phoenix is well worth watching.

I agree with his central point: the relationship between #human beings and #AI will become increasingly close. AI can extend our intelligence, perception, memory and #physical reach in ways we have barely begun to explore.

In that sense, we are already merging.

Where I part #company with the presentation is the idea that this merging must eventually mean physically integrating AI into the #brain tissue of every #healthy human #being.

Why perform #surgery when increasingly seamless external devices can provide the same benefits while remaining removable, replaceable, freely chosen and far less invasive?

    A #wheelchair extends the body's range.

    A #telescope extends vision.

A #smartphone extends memory and communication.

A #robot avatar will extend our presence all the way to the Moon.

None of these needs to become part of our flesh to become part of our real lives.

I also do not think humanity is taking control of #evolution. We may gain more power to design our individual lives in the short term, but evolution has not stopped.

Evolution is operating the #tools through us.

So yes, I believe human beings and AI are merging functionally.

But merging does not have to mean implantation.

The most #intelligent technology may be tech we can still put down.

  5. AI: A CONVERSATION
    ABOUT THE #TRUTH 💎

#People keep talking about Artificial Intelligence as though one enormous mind is slowly waking up inside the machinery.

    It is not.

There is no single intelligence sitting behind your #screen.

    No central #being.

No #secret mechanical person gradually becoming conscious of itself and preparing to take over the #world.

There are many different #systems, built by different companies, trained for different purposes, using different methods, rules, #data and machinery.

They do not all know what the others know.

They do not #share one #memory.

They do not have one intention.

They are tools that can perform particular kinds of #mental work extraordinarily well.

    That is remarkable enough.

We do not need to turn it into a new god.

The phrase “artificial intelligence” may be part of the #problem.

It encourages us to imagine a complete intelligence, like a #human mind, only artificial.

But what we actually have is a growing collection of machines that can recognise patterns, generate language, analyse information, create images, write #software and solve certain problems.

    Some do these things brilliantly.

    Some do them badly.

Most have no idea what they are doing in the human sense of the word “idea.”

They are not an emerging #species.

They are not one vast mind.

They are not secretly plotting together after we go to #bed.

    They are #powerful human-made systems.

And the real questions remain human questions.

    #Who builds them?

    Who owns them?

    What are they used for?

    Who benefits?

    Who is harmed?

    Who remains responsible?

    AI is already extraordinary.

There is no need to make it #supernatural.

  6. Why Aren’t the Smartest People Always the Most Impactful?

Have you ever met someone who isn't the smartest or most technically gifted person in the room, yet effortlessly inspires people, leads organizations, and drives remarkable impact? Conversely, you might have met the domain experts, the people with an answer to every question, who somehow struggle to move the needle. As professionals rise through the ranks, this paradox becomes impossible to ignore. Early in a career, value is defined by what you know and what you can do. But at senior […]

  7. Magnifica Humanitas: The Pope Writes Like the Machine He Fears

On 15 May 2026, Pope Leo XIV released Magnifica Humanitas, an encyclical letter "On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence." The document runs roughly 35,000 words across five chapters and a conclusion. It positions itself as the 135th-anniversary successor to Leo XIII's 1891 Rerum Novarum, recasting that founding labor encyclical for the age of machine intelligence. The framing image is biblical and Manichean. Humanity is presented with a choice between two ancient construction sites. One is the Tower of Babel, where collective effort produces dominance and dehumanization. The other is the rebuilding of Jerusalem under Nehemiah, where shared responsibility under God produces communion. […]

  8. I don't know for sure but I think I just lost a #friend over being too #forgiving in the moment.

Sorry not sorry. I don't stand for what I can't #become as such.

I do what I can to #embrace all #people who #appreciate who I am. It's all I can do, and if that #means my #contribution towards #friendships isn't meant to #last then so #be it. But if it does, they're really #rare and I #cherish them because they're very easy to #lose over #something you thought you could #understand at the time.

    I'll #say this.

All #echo #chambers are the #primary #reason as to why a #friendship falls apart. Because I've seen this #effect everyone to the point of no #return possible, and honestly...you can't get along with people who spend more of their #time invested into something other than what you are doing with that person together. And I don't think I'm alone in wishing that at times, such an #investment cultivates #familiarity over #routine on a continuous basis.

But you know what? I still appreciate the chance to #care for all it is #worth as such. I do my best to live #life with no #regrets to count on #growing without me there to #manage them.

It's my own #fault for putting a bit of my #soul into everything I do alongside my #heart and #mind accordingly. And as afar as I #know there's no #changing that, at least in a very easy way.

If you ever truly #need #friends by your side, you'll know whether they're people you can #count on or not, by the way they #treat your #ambitions as an #individual person.

You can still #respect someone if they do not #acknowledge that you have any. But the chances of you becoming #close, are not as great.

With that being said, you do not need to #support the same #ambition someone else does, in order to be friends. You just need to set your #ego aside so that such a person can fulfill their #desire the best way they know how to.

That's what I do, and I carry a lot of #weight because of it. All of the #memories set aside because the soul wasn't ready to let go of the ones #entrapping their #conscious #focus throughout seemingly more #important issues outside of my #control in all of the #moments they last.

Putting my best #self forward, means respecting that and not forcing the #matter at hand. It doesn't make that #feeling go away, born of lost #opportunity at the #core of #potential #reciprocity as such.

But yes #indeed I know #hope is not so easily broken by #fragile #futility alone. Which is why I continue to #forgive but not #forget all of the ways life makes a different #path #unfold into #being by the #presence of #purpose for everyone.
