Basically, AI companies have committed to purchasing much more compute (goddamn I hate that compute has become a noun), than they have actual revenue.

I've never seen @irishcycle or StickyBottle or any cycling group commenting on the disgraceful language used in newspaper reports of crashes like the one where a boy riding his bicycle was mowed down by a driver - the language attempts to distance the reader from the reality and "equalise" the crash, as if a bicycle and a van, bus, car or truck are equivalent.
This language endangers people.

Een automobilist is vanmiddag in Rijswijk door een muur boven een voetgangerstunnel gereden. De voorkant van de auto bleef daarbij boven het voetpad hangen. Het is onduidelijk hoe de bestuurder eraan toe is. De tunnel ligt wel vol brokstukken en de auto raakte flink beschadigd.
