  1. Wanted Chinese National Arrested in Parañaque City Over Human Trafficking Activities Connected with POGO Operations

Recently in the City of Parañaque, local law enforcers arrested a Chinese national who is wanted for human trafficking activities connected with illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) operations, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from The Daily Tribune news report. Some parts in boldface…

Chinese national Huang Mingmin, who is wanted for alleged human trafficking activities linked to illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) operations in Central Luzon, was arrested by authorities on 9 October 2026.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said the operation was conducted with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–National Capital Region Regional Field Unit (CIDG-NCR-RFU) at the K1 Center Building in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The PAOCC said sustained surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts led authorities to the location where Huang was reportedly hiding.

Huang allegedly used multiple aliases, including “Yang Bin,” “Sy Wang” and “A Bao,” to conceal his identity and evade authorities.

According to the PAOCC, Huang had also established a presence in the local business sector, acquiring real properties and fishing vessels on Jomalig Island and maintaining business interests in several establishments in Quezon province, including Mother’s Wonderland and Sea Horizon Resort, where he was reportedly identified as an owner or stockholder.

Further investigation allegedly linked Huang to Chinese nationals who facilitated and supported illegal POGO operations in Bamban, Tarlac, and Porac, Pampanga. Authorities said his alleged connections to individuals involved in the operations warranted further investigation into his role.

Court records also identify “Yang Bin,” one of Huang’s reported aliases, among the persons in control of premises covered by Search Warrant No. 41M-M-2024, issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 81 in Malolos City, Bulacan, in connection with an alleged violation of Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code, or serious illegal detention.

The alias was also listed in Search Warrant No. 42-M-2024 in connection with an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended by Republic Act No. 10364, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012.

Meanwhile, the alias “A Bao” was listed among the accused with arrest warrants in cases arising from joint anti-POGO operations against Lucky South Pampanga 99 and Whirlwind in Porac, Pampanga.

The case involves qualified trafficking in persons under Criminal Case No. R-PSG-25-01737-CR, pending before the Regional Trial Court Branch 157 in Pasig City.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you convinced that Chinese nationals who committed crime and maintained activities with POGOs are currently present in the city? Are there many Chinese nationals living within your local community now? Do you think POGOs are causing scamming and human trafficking in Parañaque?

  2. License of Parañaque City Government Employee Suspended for 90 Days by LTO

An employee of the City Government of Parañaque became the subject of allegations of aggressive driving and the harassment of a motorcycle rider. That said, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended the employee’s driver’s license for ninety days and issued him a show cause order, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from The Daily Tribune news report. Some parts in boldface…

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has imposed a 90-day preventive suspension on a driver linked to a local government unit in Parañaque City following allegations of aggressive driving and harassment of a female motorcycle rider.

The LTO issued a show cause order Tuesday, 13 October, directing the vehicle’s registered owner and designated driver to explain their involvement in the incident.

According to the complainant, the driver repeatedly sounded the vehicle’s horn and flashed its high-beam headlights while following her from Don Bosco to Annex 42 in Parañaque.

The driver also allegedly made several attempts to overtake the motorcycle by entering the opposite lane, prompting oncoming motorists to sound their horns.

“Based on the video, the vehicle’s logo and the ID lace worn by the driver can also be seen, indicating that the driver is a government employee,” the LTO said.

The agency ordered the registered owner and driver to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division at the LTO Central Office in Quezon City on 21 October. Both were directed to submit sworn explanations and supporting documents addressing the allegations.

The LTO also ordered the driver to surrender their license immediately and placed the vehicle under alarm status.

The driver could be declared an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle, which may result in license suspension or revocation.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you concerned that there could be more arrogant drivers currently employed by the City Government? Do you think the City Government has been neglectful on disciplining its employees? Have you personally ever encountered any abusive or arrogant employee of the City Government of Parañaque?

  4. Department of Tourism Adjusts Strategy Toward Investment, Jobs and Connectivity

Remember a few years ago when the Department of Tourism (DOT) unveiled an ambitious plan to establish the Philippines as a major tourism player in Asia? A lot has changed since then as economic growth of the country has slowed down tremendously and there is not much it can do to compete with others when it comes to attracting a lot of foreign tourists. That said, the DOT under its new leader is not only doing a campaign rebrand but also a notable adjustment of its strategy toward investment, jobs and connectivity, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is shifting its focus beyond visitor arrivals, placing greater emphasis on investments, infrastructure, connectivity, jobs and higher tourism revenues as it seeks to build a more competitive and sustainable industry.

Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay said the agency is pursuing an investment-driven and people-centered approach as the sector continues to make a significant contribution to the economy.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that tourism accounted for 8.1% of the economy in 2025, generating P2.27 trillion in Tourism Direct Gross Value Added and supporting 7.70 million jobs.

“We want to be defined as an agency that’s proactively taking the lead in tourism readiness. This means strengthening our airports and gateways, improving our physical tourism infrastructure, and expanding air connectivity, so our visitors can move seamlessly across the country,” Angara-Mathay said.

The DOT is working with the Department of Transportation and other stakeholders to expand flights and establish air and sea links with strategic and emerging markets. From January 1 to May 19, international air seats on direct inbound flights reached 7.78 million, up 8.31% from the same period in 2025.

China was among the fastest-growing markets, with 310,000 arrivals during the period, up 69.15% year-on-year. The Philippines also secured expanded air services with Türkiye, doubling Manila-Istanbul flights to 14 weekly and opening frequency rights for secondary gateways.

To attract more investment, the DOT is implementing programs focused on tourism investment readiness, intelligence, accountability and strategic investor engagement. It has also begun developing partnerships in Japan, including potential projects involving a specialty medical clinic and telecommunications infrastructure in underserved destinations.

The agency is also pushing for a larger tourism marketing budget, with about 70% of its planned 2027 marketing allocation expected to go toward digital campaigns and media placements.

At the same time, the DOT is expanding support for tourism MSMEs through partnerships with Klook, GCash, Viber, Mastercard and Visa, while strengthening accreditation, workforce training and tourism data systems.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this recent development? Do you think the DOT will be able to make the tourism sector of the Philippines more attractive towards investors and large businesses that could potentially add a lot of economic value? How many news tourism jobs do you think could be created by the middle of 2028?

  12. Man Arrested In Parañaque City For Failing To Settle P300,000 In Cockfight Bets

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a man who failed to settle cockfight bets worth P300,000 placed on credit was arrested, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from The Daily Tribune report. Some parts in boldface…

A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly failed to settle P300,000 worth of cockfight bets placed on credit at a local cockpit arena in Parañaque City.

The incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. on 19 July inside the cockpit arena located along Quirino Avenue, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The suspect was identified only by the alias Rommie, a freelance agent and a resident of Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City.

Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect, who was a regular customer at the establishment, placed multiple bets totaling P300,000.

Due to his familiarity with the arena, the teller permitted him to place the wagers on credit without immediate payment. However, after losing the bets, the suspect attempted to leave the premises without settling his outstanding account.

The teller blocked his path and demanded payment, but the suspect admitted he had no money to settle the debt, prompting the establishment’s management to seek immediate police assistance.

Responding personnel from the Tambo Police Sub-station arrived at the scene, verified the circumstances, and placed the suspect under arrest.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, do you want cockfight betting to be banned locally? Are many people in your local community addicted to gambling activities?

  13. Five Foreigners Arrested In Parañaque City Over Online Scam

Recently in the City of Parañaque, five foreigners were arrested by elements of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) over a suspected online scam hub located inside a condominium complex, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

Operatives of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested five foreigners during an operation targeting a suspected online scam hub in Parañaque City.

The operation was conducted in the early hours of 17 June at a condominium complex in Sapphire Seaview Park, Parañaque City following intelligence reports linking the location to an alleged “love scam” operation that reportedly victimized individuals through online deception and cryptocurrency-related schemes.

Nabbed in the operation were Chinese national Tang Shun, Malaysian man Chia Kong Loon, as well as Burmese nationals Kum Htoi, Myo Oo, and Kyaw Tint Lwin. They were apprehended after immigration verification allegedly revealed violations of Philippine immigration laws.

According to intelligence information received by the BI, the location was allegedly being used for fraudulent online activities.

Authorities also received reports that some workers connected to the operation were being restricted from freely leaving the premises, prompting further investigation.

During the operation, one of the foreign nationals reportedly disclosed information indicating that multiple condominium units were being utilized for unlawful work-related activities. This led to the apprehension of the five foreign nationals.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you suspicious that there could be Chinese nationals living in your local community who could be secretly scamming people online? Do you believe that the concept of the Parañaque Renaissance includes criminal activities in the city committed by illegal aliens? Do you consider the city as a hot spot of illegal aliens today?

  14. I Love Israel: Israel And Philippines Deepen Technology Ties

Israel and the Philippines have agreed to deepen ties with each other on the field of technology which will open new paths of investment and partnerships between Filipino and Israeli companies, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface.

The Philippines and Israel are expanding cooperation in technology, with Israeli firms seeking partnerships with Philippine companies in areas ranging from network management and cybersecurity to connectivity and aerospace software.

The push was highlighted during the Israel Mobile Delegation to the Philippines’ business-to-business forum held Tuesday in Bonifacio Global City, where Israeli industry leaders met with local stakeholders to explore partnerships and advance digital connectivity and network resilience.

The forum, themed “Harnessing Innovation for Network Resilience,” featured five Israeli companies: Amdocs, Cato Networks, Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., Spacecom and Symmetrium.

The initiative aims to connect Filipino and Israeli firms based on market demand while providing a framework to strengthen business cooperation between the two countries.

“We see a great interest from the Philippine system in Israel, which emerges in many fields,” said Ofek Venecianer, economic counselor at the Israeli Embassy.

“It’s not just coming from Israel. It’s going from agriculture, cybersecurity to mobile. This event is specifically for mobile. [I] can say that the Philippine companies understand the unique value of the Israeli companies. It’s very advanced,” she added.

Venecianer said Israeli companies view the Philippines as a promising market for expansion.

“Since Israel is a small country, all the Israeli companies know that they need to scale up,” she said.

“When you look for countries where they can scale up, the Philippines is definitely a good fit for the Israeli market. Israeli companies are very much looking forward to it.”

Resiliency – A key focus of the forum was network resilience, an area where Israel sees opportunities to contribute to the Philippine telecommunications sector.

“In the end of the day, resiliency is like a state of mind,” Venecianer said. “It can be a different strategy, tackle different challenges.”

She said Israel’s experience in emergency response and critical infrastructure management could help strengthen the resilience of the Philippines’ mobile ecosystem, adding that cybersecurity remains one of Israel’s leading sectors.

Matching the need – Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Dana Kursh said future cooperation will be guided by the specific needs of the Philippines.

“When it comes to the sectors, at the end of the day, it’s just matching the need,” she said.

“And the need when it comes to resiliency, especially at this time of the year, it’s crucial.”

Kursh said opportunities for collaboration exist across agriculture, health, education, cybersecurity and other sectors, with innovation and technology serving as key enablers.

“President Marcos himself is very loud and clear in his prioritizing generally—he says two words. It’s innovation and technology. We have to weave innovation and technology to each one of those sectors in order to flourish,” she said.

To all my readers, I encourage you to pray to the Lord for technology-related breakthroughs between Israel and the Philippines so that both nations will prosper, innovate and create new jobs for those who badly need them. The Philippines itself is having a disappointing time this year with weakening economic growth, rapid inflation, and the recent embarrassment that happened at the United Nations (UN). Even though the current officials of the government cannot realize the truth, the Philippines really needs Israel as a long-term partner.

At the same time, I encourage you all to realize the truth that Israel is the land God designated specifically for the Jewish people (read Genesis 35:10-12) and His command must be followed without hesitation. If you want to be blessed further by the Lord, do so by loving and blessing the Jewish people (Genesis 12:1-3). I did my part when I was in Israel. Also, let me remind you all that the ties between the Jews and Christians are truly biblical!

I encourage you all to pray to the Lord God in support of Israel, to love and bless the Jewish people, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

If you truly believe in Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God the Heavenly Father wholeheartedly and you continue to be faithful, you should be aware that Christians are meant to stand united with Israel and love the Jewish people no matter what. You can do your part supporting Israel by donating to Christians United for Israel (CUFI). Do not forget to read the Holy Bible, then pray in tongues to the Lord in the privacy of your room with the door shut.

Always be the fearless and aggressive church of Lord Jesus!

  15. 14-Year-Old Kid With Disability Dies In Parañaque City, Six Minors Arrested

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a 14-year-old boy died as a result of getting beaten by six minors over a transaction he had with them, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune. The six minors were arrested later in follow-up police operations.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

A 14-year-old boy with disability died after he was allegedly mauled by six minors in Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City.

Parañaque City police chief Police Colonel Nicolas Piñon said the victim had met the group—also minors—reportedly in connection with a transaction involving shorts he had purchased from them.

After the exchange, the victim climbed a footbridge where he was allegedly attacked and repeatedly beaten. The teenager managed to flee but was already vomiting blood when he was later assisted and rushed to a hospital.

He died from severe head injuries, according to investigators.

Six minors were later arrested in follow-up police operations. They were turned over to the local social welfare authorities, in line with protocols for children in conflict with the law, while complaints for murder are being readied against them. Authorities have withheld the identities of those involved due to their ages.

Police said it is coordinating with social welfare agencies as the case undergoes inquest proceedings and further investigation.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family has called for justice, describing the teenager as kind and with no known conflicts prior to the incident.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you concerned that there could still be a lot more violent teenagers out there? Does Parañaque have a growing teenage criminals population?  Do you still believe in the Parañaque Renaissance?

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief P/Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin commended the swift coordination between security personnel and responding police officers, which resulted in the prompt arrest of four adult male suspects and the recovery of stolen telecommunications equipment.

  18. Woman Arrested In Parañaque City For Abusing Child

Recently in the City of Parañaque, local police officers armed with a warrant arrested a 42-year-old woman over child abuse charges, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

A female suspect facing child abuse charges was arrested by police authorities during a warrant operation in Barangay San Isidro in Parañaque City on Wednesday evening.

The accused, identified as alias Ferdilyn, 42, was apprehended at around 8:30 p.m. at her residence in Manggahan II, Lower Matatdo.

The arrest was the result of an intensified effort to track down individuals with outstanding warrants for crimes against children.

The accused was taken into custody by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of Section 10(A) of Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The warrant, docketed under Criminal Case No. 2026-0071, carried a recommended bail of P80,000 and was issued on 15 April 2026 by Judge Ma. Christina De Pio Lim of the Parañaque City Regional Trial Court Branch 260.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, are you concerned that there could be more child abusers who have yet to be apprehended? Is child abuse a serious problem in your local community?
