"Alphabet-owned Waymo introduced its transit rewards program Tuesday. It will start in Northern California and expand to other cities. Waymo employees will be the first to access the program.
"To earn ride credit, or Waymo Cash, customers will have to link their Visa card to the Waymo app and use it to take an autonomous trip and public transit within two hours of each other. For each connected trip on public transit, riders will earn $2.85 in Waymo Cash, which is the cost of transit fare in San Francisco."

If this guy had survived, he would have very likely been nicked from his hospital bed (even Addenbrookes if he ended up there), serving a few years in HMP (possibly as a disabled prisoner) and living with a lifetime of debt (insurers may still choose to go after him to recover their substantial costs)
Another lad in the car *did* try and get him to slow down, but he simply refused to do so.
Sooner or later incidents like this are likely to get graduated driving licences introduced here (although that means more surveillance to enforce them, and if the worse aspects of #CarCulture are not addressed might only push the bad behaviour slightly along the age group into drivers 20s/30s)
