    Therefore taxes are theft !!!

Businesses that delay or overlook registration often face penalties, rejected filings, or complications during […]

Do they use it to pay for suspended gas taxes before the midterm elections?

  12. I'm 54 and only now do I understand how an income tax deduction works. You don't subtract the number from the tax. You subtract it from your gross income, and then the new lower income number is used to calculate your tax.

  13. I propose disposable income be taxed at 30% across the board.

Disposable="profit" after all expenses including primary home improvements, one vacation, and transportation for all adults in the house.

Investment gains should be taxed at a flat 10% on a yearly basis with no tax on withdrawal. Thus, an investment of $100,000 that gained $10,000 would garner a $1,000 tax. Payment made directly from their investment account.

Sales and property taxes should be eliminated.

  15. Silence is Golden (Especially When It’s About Your Land) by Lawson Akhigbe

In most functional societies, those quaint places where governments occasionally remember they exist to serve rather than to frustrate, when a citizen submits an application requiring official action, a few basic courtesies are observed. An acknowledgment. A request for missing documents if needed. Perhaps even a timeline, however optimistic. The machinery of state, however rusty, at least coughs to confirm it has received your papers.

I assume that this applies to most countries: the fiscal fraud is magnitudes larger than any social fraud.

So where will politicians emphasise anti-fraud efforts?

Where is the highest return on fraud prevention?
The best results for their tax-paying citizens?
