Überall dort, wo Sozialismus probiert wurde, hat er sehr gut funktioniert. Deshalb hat überall dort ja auch die USA interveniert und die CIA die politischen Anführer ermordet oder ermorden lassen. Dem Sozialismus wurde bisher nie erlaubt zu existieren.
Das was du Sozialismus nennst, ist kein Sozialismus, sondern seine ganz eigene Staatsform: Stalinismus. Eine Diktatur hat nichts gemeinsam mit den Produktionsmitteln in der Hand der Arbeiterklasse. Oder waren in der Sowjetunion die Arbeiter:innen Eigentümer:innen der Fabriken? Nein, im Gegenteil, sie wurden als Kulack:innen in den Gulag gesperrt. Das, was Stalin betrieb, war also kein Sozialismus.
Es wurde von der USA aber aus Propagandagründen Sozialismus genannt. Und erlaubt zu existieren. Denn mit dem Verweis auf Stalins (oder Maos) Terror-Diktatur hatten die USA immer das Argument "Sehr ihr? Sozialismus funktioniert einfach nicht." als Warnung bereit. "Kapitalismus ist die einzig mögliche Wirtschaftsform."

In Canada, there really are 2 NDP (purported social democrat) parties. Both sharing the same membership.
The left party, led by the federal leader, @avilewis wants to build the membership as part of an activist movement.
The right, who are led by the leaders of the provincial parties, don't want active members. They want donors, and they want volunteers on Election Day, and the rest of the time, they want members to shut up, go away and leave them alone to manage things. As if they were a corporation.
Who is going to win this power struggle? Hard to say, but I would say probably the people who don't treat their own members as a necessary evil are already winning.
DSA Democrats will be familiar with this dynamic, I imagine.

The #USA has been spreading democracy around the world since... well, at least 1953. What's even more astonishing is that the USA (and #Israel) are back in Iran trying to remove a regime that only came to power in the first place because of what they did to Iran in 1953 - a coup fuelled by the UK's greediness for Iran’s oil.
