  1. Americans and Canadians live under capitalism and always have. At no point have we had a planned economy with state- or collectively-owned means of production. At no point have we challenged the right that bourgeois currently have to pocket the surplus value of the labour of others. These countries have been capitalist for as long as they've existed.

We are not, and have never been, "neo-feudalist", and we have certainly never been socialist. Not even the best booms of the capitalist boom-and-bust cycle can be ascribed to socialism. Neither can any of the concessions that the bourgeoisie has granted us in the hopes of making us tolerate their dictatorship.

The way out of the crisis we find ourselves in today cannot be found in the past. It is found in the works of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, in the conscious and organised rising up of the proletariat against the entire bourgeois economic and political system. Even if it was possible to turn back the clock seventy, a hundred, or even a hundred and seventy years, this would only delay the current crisis seventy, a hundred, or a hundred and seventy years. And the same solution would be no less necessary. #communism #socialism #capitalism #USpol #CDNpoli
