Today's good news: I got my homeowner's insurance renewal, and they aren't asking me to do anything around the house prior to the renewal — and the premium even went down $17 from last year.
Given how many policies are getting cancelled or renewed at much higher rates, seeing this simple renewal notice was a relief. The company did require some significant work last year, but I can't complain about that; the circuit breaker boxes they had me replace were indeed a known fire hazard.
