  6. Your Medicare has a gap no one talks about

Medicare covers most medical costs, but there’s one enormous expense it barely touches.

  11. CMS is ending the Medicare Part D Premium Stabilization Demonstration on December 31. The program paid a monthly subsidy toward standalone drug plan premiums, $15 per member in 2025 and $10 in 2026, and capped how far those premiums could rise year over year. Without it, the increases land in 2027 plan pricing.

National Campaign for Justice has a letter to Congress asking them to preserve it.

Private Healthcare Providers are simply #Leeches and #Unethical ones at that.

That is not to say that the health workers they employ share the same social guilt. I’d wager most workers do in fact care for patients unlike their #Grifting corporate employers and the #Usurious #Insurance companies.

Making a #Living from providing healthcare services is socially responsible.

    Making a #Profit from healthcare is #Inhuman.

Beef up #NotForProfit Health Insurance regulations
Boost #Medicare (also include #Dental cover) for a comprehensive public healthcare system.

  13. Fiscal responsibility and tax cuts

Needless to say most Americans are not aware of all this, don’t actually care and have no idea of the crisis we are possibly facing living on debt. We are headed to a very precarious place. As of late August 2026 Total national debt - Over $40 trillion Debt held by the public - About $32.3 trillion Intragovernmental debt - About $7.8 trillion Projected FY 2026 deficit - About $1.9 trillion Deficit as % of GDP - 5.8% Projected net interest cost, FY 2026 - About $1.0 trillion Debt […]

  14. AP’s coverage∶

The #NationalDebt surpassed a record $40 trillion Wednesday, a staggering milestone as #defense costs, #social programs like #SocialSecurity & #Medicare & interest on the burgeoning #deficit to make up an enormous share of federal spending.

The milestone figure was recorded just 5 months after the US hit a record $39 trillion debt in March. It reached $38 trillion 5 months before that, in October [all under #Trump’s watch].

  16. For decades, American Big Pharma has been scheming to undermine Australia’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), which has given Australians access to some of the cheapest medicines in the developed world. Their goal? Higher profits at the expense of affordable healthcare. They’d love to see Australia adopt a US-style privatised system, where individuals are forced to pay exorbitant prices for the same medicines we get for just a few dollars.

  17. Thousands in #Midwestern #GOP Districts Attend #Sanders' First Stops on Tour to Fight #Oligarchy

"It's like there's only one person who is actually able to sidestep the demoralization and frustration," said one observer.

    Julia Conley, Feb 22, 2025

"After addressing more than 3,400 #Nebraska residents in Omaha Friday evening, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday made his second stop on his National Tour to Fight Oligarchy—telling Iowa City, #Iowa residents that '#Trumpism will not be defeated by politicians inside the #DCBeltway.'

"'For better or worse, that is not going to happen,' said the Vermont Independent senator, whose broadly popular policy proposals have long been dismissed by Democratic leaders as unrealistic and radical while President Donald Trump has increasingly captured the attention of the #WorkingClass Americans who would benefit most from Sanders' ideas.

"'It will only be defeated by millions of Americans in Iowa, in #Vermont, in Nebraska, in every state in this country, who come together in a strong #grassroots movement and say no to oligarchy, no to #authoritarianism, no to #kleptocracy, no to massive cuts to programs that #LowIncome and working Americans desperately need, no to huge #TaxBreaks for the #wealthiest people in this country,' said Sanders.

"The senator announced his tour earlier this month as #ElonMusk, the head of the Trump-created Department of Government Efficiency ( #DOGE) who poured $277 million on the president's campaign, swept through numerous agencies, with DOGE staffers setting up illegal servers, seizing control of data, shutting federal employees out of offices, and working to shut down operations across the government.

"Since Trump took office for his second term just over a month ago, roughly 30,000 federal employees have been fired or laid off—part of Musk's push to cut $2 trillion in federal spending in order to fill the $4.6 trillion hole that Trump's extension of the 2017 tax cuts would blow in the deficit.

"#Republican lawmakers have also pushed to include cuts to #Medicaid, and Trump this week signaled he would back #Medicare cuts after repeatedly insisting he would not slash the popular healthcare program used by more than 65 million Americans, in order to save money while handing out tax cuts to the same #corporations and #ultrawealthy households that benefited from the 2017 tax law.

"'Today in America we are rapidly moving toward an #oligarchic form of society where a handful of #multibillionaires not only have extraordinary wealth, but unprecedented economic, media, and political power,' said Sanders in Iowa City, which like Omaha is represented by a Republican U.S. House member who narrowly won reelection last November and has faced pressure to reject the GOP budget plan. 'Brothers and sisters, that is not the democracy that men and women fought and died to defend.'"

  18. #KamalaHarris said that if #Trump is re-elected, he would give #TaxBreaks to big #corporations, cut #SocialSecurity & #Medicare, weaken the #MiddleClass & reduce #access to #HealthCare.

“They do not lead to #prosperity. They lead to #inequity & economic #injustice,” she said of Trump’s agenda.

“We are not going back. You’re not taking us back.”

  19. #Massachusetts #HealthPolicy #HealthcareNews Yesterday, I posted about MA Issue 2, which regulates #DentalInsurance. It will have national implications — maybe not today, but soon. Why? When it comes to U.S. health policy, the Bay State always does it first.
    Reminder:
-#ACA (#Obamacare ): a near carbon copy of the MA policy passed under Romney.
-#Medicare’s attempt to tie payments to quality rather than fee for service? MA did it first.
-Trump’s price transparency plan? Guess who did it first.
