Back in 2005, the guy I was living with at the time told me about a method for relieving stress based on meridian points like acupuncture or acupressure. it's called EFT or Tapping.
I've used it irregularly over the years, and sometimes it's been incredibly helpful and other times helpful in a minor way.
Imagine my surprise when this weird thing you do - tapping on different acupuncture points on your face and hands and upper body - is now covered by Medicare.
In the 20+ years that I've been using it there have been hundreds of studies that show that EFT actually works, not just qualitative studies but also quantitative study using MRIs and others using measurements of cortisol to indicate stress levels. In other words, it's weird but as far as we can tell it's valid.
I don't talk about it a lot because again, it's pretty weird and a lot of people think I'm weird enough. But if you are a senior living in the US, covered by Medicare, you might be interested in looking this information over. I'm not proselytizing, but I do feel it's important enough to share.
In my experience, it helps with pain, it helps with anxiety.
If you have questions feel free to ask me. If you're a jerk about it, you'll be blocked.
"Medicare has a new program called the ACCESS Model. In plain terms, it's Medicare paying for digital health programs that help people with certain conditions, the same way it pays for other care. NeuroTap Health is a participant. So for eligible adults with Original Medicare, Medicare pays for the program."

Your Medicare has a gap no one talks about
Medicare covers most medical costs, but there’s one enormous expense it barely touches.

In case you weren't sure that Medicare Advantage plans and corporate insurer ACA plans were designed specifically deny people care - ie to kill off the elderly, disabled, and poor - you can see here that Murder for Profit is the sole function of non-public for-profit "market based" so-called healthcare.
Rationing for you, not for them of course. They get all the care they need.

I've been getting multiple calls every day by a company known as Covered Markets for Medicare Advantage plans, in particular UHC. They are harrassing me, when I asked that they stop calling they said they will start constantly calling me. They look like they are faking their calling numbers. Fortunately they are calling my work number.
Any suggestions on course of action.

'Severe pushback': #HouseRepublicans fear constituent revolt over divisive new proposal
by Carl Gibson, 8/13/2025
"House Republicans are now pondering whether to pursue another major legislative push involving #Medicaid later this year, just months after narrowly passing President Donald #Trump's massive tax and spending policy. But some are hesitant out of fear for how their constituents would react.
"Politico reported Wednesday that the Republican Study Committee (RSC) – which is made up of 189 Republican members of Congress — has invited a controversial figure to its Thursday meeting that suggests the GOP may make even steeper cuts to Medicaid this year or in early 2026. According to the outlet, #ParagonHealth Institute president #BrianBlase, who is credited as the architect of Republicans' Medicaid cuts in the #OneBigBeautifulBillAct, to this week's meeting.
"Blase's address to the RSC comes as Republicans plot whether to embark on another legislative crusade before the end of the year, even though the tax and spending bill almost failed to pass despite Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress. While no official details have emerged, Politico reported that Blase's invitation likely means that future Medicaid cuts could be on the table.
"Changes to Medicare may also be included in the conversation, as Blase will be accompanied by #DemetriousKouzoukas, who leads Paragon's Medicare Reform Initiative. According to its website, Paragon is focused on changes to #Medicare and #Medicaid policy, and its leadership and board have numerous ties to #FarRight policy groups like the #HeritageFoundation (which created #Project2025) and the #FederalistSociety.
"Not all Republicans are on board with another divisive vote on additional Medicaid cuts. Rep. #MikeFlood (R-Neb.) reportedly warned that there would be
'#SeverePushback' against any attempt to impose new cuts to the popular program that provides health insurance to #LowIncome and #disabled Americans."Politico's Benjamin Guggenheim and Meredith Lee Hill also reported that there is little appetite for another bitter legislative battle given the work House Republicans are facing when they return to Washington after Labor Day. They wrote: 'A major fight over government funding looms, as well as the expiration of the #ACATaxCredits — which could lead to drastic hikes in some Americans’ #HealthInsurance premiums.' "

Economic Downturns Cut Lives Short—But Only If You’re Poor & American.
A new study shows that recessions slash life expectancy for less-educated Americans—yet another sign of how brutal U.S. inequality is compared to Northern Europe, where strong social safety nets protect people from economic shocks. While Denmark, Norway, and Sweden use universal healthcare, robust unemployment benefits, and proactive welfare policies to shield their citizens, the U.S. leaves its most vulnerable to suffer. The result? A life expectancy gap that widens with every crisis.

Did you know that half of all government spending on dental care goes to private insurance rebates? This means millions of Australians without coverage are left behind, often skipping treatment until their oral health becomes a serious issue.
The current system is driving inequality, with $1.3 billion spent in ways that don’t reach those who need it most. It’s time to rethink how we support dental care for ALL Australians.

There is a dichotomy I've never been able to wrap my head around:👉 How so many RW Americans will get SO upset if you threaten their #Medicare or #Medicaid, but then attack/condemn/scream if you dare suggest making it available to everyone, calling you a #Communist/#Socialist, to the point of threatening violence.
Give it to Grandma and it's a life saver. Offer it to everyone as a #PublicOption and it means #DeathPanels. 🤦♂️ #RWNJs
