“We’re fighting wars. We can’t take care of daycare. You got to let a state take care of daycare, and they should pay for it too. They should pay. They’ll have to raise their taxes, but they should pay for it. This week began with the release of a report titled “Deciding to Win,” claiming to light the way “toward a common sense renewal of the #DemocraticParty.”

But the first mention of #healthcare is so far from reality that the authors might have more accurately titled their report “Deciding to Lie.” The report declares that Medicare for All is in the category of “unpopular economic policies.” The claim is false. But it’s in sync with the corporate sensibilities and wishful thinking of party operatives like James Carville, whose praise of the document appears on its first page.

I want the ACA tax credits made permanent and the recently cut nutrition assistance programs fully restored, and the recently fired CDC staff all returned to work. I know that this Republican Administration does not negotiate in good faith, so I want you to hold the line until they take care of ordinary Americans and the CDC professionals who keep us safe.

The 600 CDC staffers fired includes the team that helps prepare for pandemics and bio terrorism attacks, and the team responsible for researching cures to 100% fatal neuro-degenerative diseases like Kreutzfeldt-Jakob.

In the midst of the chaos, please be clear. Your constituents do not want a Continuing Resolution or Interim Budget without restoring Medicaid, Affordable Care Act Subsidies, nutrition assistance, and the CDC staff.
