Your Mortgage Was Priced in Basel
Somewhere in America today a couple is signing a mortgage. Thirty years, a fixed rate, a kitchen table, a pen that suddenly weighs more than it should. They believe the number on the page came from their bank, or from the Federal Reserve, or from the mysterious weather system called the market. All three answers hold a piece of the truth, and all three leave out the room where a slice of that number was set: a round tower beside the railway tracks in Basel, Switzerland, owned by the central banks of the world, run by a staff most Americans will never hear named, and answerable to no voter on Earth. “Woodside Energy’s woke era is dead. No more $US5 billion ($7 billion) new energy commitment, no more special treatment & lower hurdles for green projects, no more getting ahead of customer demand for things like hydrogen & ammonia and, given the way this is all headed, we’d guess no more asking shareholders to approve its climate transition action plan. Because, what’s the point? “

The Mexican Chronicles Two
……. The next morning, after my customary breakfast of a six-pack and a few shots of vodka, Trevor, Charmaine and I set off to find “The House”. There, in a normal street, in an ordinary suburb we found it. The only indication something was not kosher was huge satellite dishes in the back yard (this was back in the days before DSTV). We went in, met Sergeant Pelsur, got the pay structure and signed a minimum one-year contract. The contract was to train troops in a foreign country, with money paid into a bank account of our choice anywhere in the world, in Dollars. Full medical, transport to- and from the foreign country, as well as food and drink, would be provided. All clothing and equipment was to be issued on site and in the beginning we would have to live in tents. Talking to Charmaine and my close buddy Mike that night I told them I believed the training thing was bullshit. For the amount of money we’d been offered, we were off to fight. I didn’t care. We’d been told to bring……………………..
Big Five Wars is my main mission for now and they also get updated regularly.

“Global heating is an outrage, not a tragedy”
This is something that is being done to us. Knowingly. Which makes it a crime.

A narrow class of people is profiting from our anguish. They know they’re setting our world on fire. They persist because they love neither the Earth nor its people. What they care about is money. Not just enough to get by on. Not even enough to become grotesquely rich with. They want the kind of money that bends others to their will. They seek power”

“Consider the record. In 2000, #ScottBessent left George Soros to run $1 billion of his own fund. 5 years later, the fund no longer existed. In 2015 he tried again with Key Square, co-founded with Soros alum Michael Germino and seeded with $2 billion of Soros #money - which is a bit like failing your driving test and being handed a Ferrari. Assets peaked at $5.1 billion in 2017 and finished 2023 at $577 million.”

Availability of Cashless Payment Services for Children in Japan Grows
The number of cashless payment services for children in Japan is growing and already parents have the means to check their kids’ spending history and balances using digital means, according to a news article by Jiji Press.
To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news article of Jiji Press. Some parts in boldface…
Cashless payment services for children are increasingly available in Japan, allowing parents to check their children’s balances and spending history through an app to prevent excessive spending.
They are also attracting attention as a financial education tool that helps children learn how to manage their allowances and spend money systematically as Japan becomes increasingly cashless.
In July, Seven Bank began offering a prepaid card and a dedicated app for children aged 6 or older. Parents can load their children’s allowance onto the card via the app and review their spending history.
Notifications are sent whenever the card is used. The app has a feature to send money to children as a reward for achieving goals, such as completing chores.
Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this development? What is your opinion about having more cashless payment services for children? Do you think the said services will help them become more financially literate and also more disciplined on handling their money?
You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.
