By Zubir AhmedA person’s wish to die can be shaped by whether they have access to proper palliative care – and in England and Wales, too many do not

Inhumanity has reached a sophisticated level. Somebody: "If someone is suicidal, I am not responsible for it. It’s their responsibility to seek help. I’m not a doctor or a professional.

Subtle but sharp povertyism: "Don't help the poor with money. Give them what our experts think they need.

Implication: "We are here for you. Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems."
Also them: "I don't like people asking me for money while I have been doing something; in return, I deserve this. You deserve your fate.#mentalhealth #support #community #solidarity #livedexperience #care #mutualaid #reflections #society #action #empathy #humanity #dignity #realcare

Current mental health support is like:
• "You're not alone" (commentary: how do you know that?)
• "We're not here to solve problems but more to keep listening" (commentary: making things right together is how we solve problems)#mentalhealth #support #community #solidarity #livedexperience #care #mutualaid #reflections #society #action #empathy #humanity #dignity #realcare

> New longitudinal research that tracked children from age 1 through age 8 found that greater screen viewing, especially during infancy and around the time children begin school, was associated with lower academic performance at age 9 and weaker working memory at age 10.5. The results suggest that when children are exposed to screens could matter just as much as how much time they spend using them.

If I Could Step Into One Moment in History… I Know Exactly Where I’d Go. 🇮🇳
If you could go back and witness any historical event, which one would you pick?
If I could go back and witness any historical event, I wouldn’t choose a famous battle.
I wouldn’t choose a royal coronation.
I’d choose a moment when India was deciding what kind of country it wanted to become.
I would want to witness the making of the Indian Constitution.
Not just to see the people sitting in that historic Assembly, but to listen to their discussions.
What were they worried about?
What kind of India did they imagine?
How did they think about equality, freedom, justice, democracy and the rights of ordinary people?
Today, we often read the Constitution as a book or study it for an examination.
But imagine being there when those ideas were being debated and turned into the foundation of a new nation.
I’d want to sit quietly in that room and listen.
Because history isn’t only about what happened.
It’s also about the choices people made when the future was still uncertain.
And perhaps the most interesting question would be:
If they could see India today, what would they think we did right—and what would they ask us to change? 🇮🇳
💭 If you could witness one moment from history with your own eyes, which one would you choose?Rate this:
