🎮 Arnault Djaoui examines representations of the sacred and religious symbols in Japanese video games, focusing in particular on major J-RPG series and their use of folklore, sacredness and spirituality.
🎬 Carla Dreij explores the representation of the martyr and his mother in Lebanese cinema of “resistance”, through an intersectional approach to sacrifice and the relationship between the martyr and his mother.
🌍 Drahmane Fondo contributes two articles. The first examines the roles of customary and religious actors in Mali and their influence in the political and public spheres. The second explores the notion of the “unborn child in Africa” from multiple perspectives, including beliefs, cultures and representations.
