Had an odd #Android Auto / #Apple CarPlay issue on a #Ram truck where the customer’s phone showed their map location as Japan, even though we were in Texas.
The weird part: turning off automatic time zone updates on the phone made the location show correctly. After checking with the dealership, the fix ended up being an RFH reset, or Radio Frequency Hub reset.

I never get tired of giving #OldTech a new life.
But now the battery says Charge: 9.6 Wh (31.1%) condition: 30.9/30.9 Wh (100.0%) power because this battery 🪫 was original but was replaced with a new, genuine $17ish battery. (I long for yesterday and its snap-in replacement batteries!)
I also ordered some matching (but #EOL) #Crucial #DDR4 #RAM because this old broad only has 4 GB in it, but goes to 8. Sad it was like $55-60 but hey. 🤷♀️ I should get another 2-3 years min out of this laptop 🌟.

Hab mal geschaut was denn Speicher kosten würde.😱 Beinahe das 4-fache im Vergleich zum Herbst.
Fast 2200 € für 192 GB DDR5 RAM. Irre!Warum so viel? Tja, Bildbearbeitung Astrofotografie profitiert von viel RAM. Fürs "Internetsurfen" genügt auch noch mein 9 Jahre alter Laptop mit 16 GB.
Naja, dann wart ma halt bis die Blase platzt. Rechne mit 2027, Stress hab ich ja keinen (darf man da auch keinen haben, sonst wird es richtig teuer). Da müssen eben die 64 GB DDR4 und ein entsprechend älterer Prozessor noch ein Weilchen genügen.

Lo que inicialmente se proyectaba como un bache temporal en el suministro de componentes se está transformando en una crisis estructural que mantendrá los precios de smartphones, PCs y componentes al alza durante al menos dos años más (Fuente wccftech).
El mercado tecnológico enfrenta una de sus etapas más difíciles debido a la escasez crítica de chips DRAM y NAND. Según reportes recientes de analistas y ejecutivos de la industria, como el CEO de Silicon Motion, la demanda masiva de infraestructura para inteligencia artificial está absorbiendo la mayor parte de la capacidad de producción de las fábricas. Esto ha obligado a los fabricantes a priorizar la memoria de alto ancho de banda (HBM) para centros de datos, reduciendo drásticamente la oferta disponible para dispositivos de consumo.
Esta situación está impactando directamente en el precio final de los productos. Los costos de almacenamiento SSD y memoria RAM han subido significativamente, lo que ha llevado a que las ventas de smartphones y motherboards registren caídas históricas en 2026. Se estima que el equilibrio entre oferta y demanda no se restablecerá hasta bien entrado el año 2027 o incluso inicios de 2028, rompiendo la tendencia de una década de obtener mejores especificaciones por menor precio. Para los usuarios, esto se traduce en dispositivos más caros o en configuraciones de memoria más modestas por el mismo valor.
