“🌍 Using geophysical and hydrochemical evidence, the study sheds new light on groundwater occurrence and quality in Tharparkar, one of Pakistan’s most water-scarce regions, where access to reliable and safe water remains a persistent challenge.
💧 Why does this research matter? By integrating high-resolution electrical resistivity surveys with groundwater-quality information, the study improves understanding of where groundwater occurs, subsurface aquifer conditions, and the spatial variability of groundwater quality in this complex and hyper-arid environment.
The findings can support the research community, water-sector institutions, planners, and development practitioners by providing an improved scientific basis for:
🔹 Targeting areas with better groundwater potential and reducing uncertainty in groundwater exploration.

🐒 NEW: A study of 83 cases across 15 #chimpanzee and #bonobo communities finds that mothers carry deceased #infants for weeks, sometimes for up to four months.
Those that died of #disease are carried longest, since the transition from life to #death is gradual. Researchers link the #behavior to a lingering maternal instinct rather than a human concept of finality.
