  1. The EU will ban Brazilian meat imports from September.

An EU committee made up of experts from member states voted on Tuesday to ban imports of Brazilian meat starting 3 September due to the use of antimicrobials to stimulate animal growth.

The ban would come just two weeks after the EU-Mercosur trade deal provisionally entered into force, liberalising cross-Atlantic agricultural trade despite opposition from farmers.

Then there's fish farms, cow farms, general #meat production, which keeps animals in unsanitary conditions and dumps insane amounts of antibiotics into organic systems.

Then there's the hate for #WHO, a mouth piece for the world's health professionals - an actual #meritocracy - being dragged in the dirt by #conspiracy theorists.

fair, but, you also choose how to receive those words.

someone asked me — twice! — about a smoked #tofu sandwich that i'd made, whether it was #meat.

i didn't go all like »wtf you clown, can't you tell the difference?« but more like:
»it's tofu. i want to avoid harming animals as much as you do.«

you can at least appreciate the #noAI sentiment, even if they got it wrong this time.
