After a long discomforting night of restless sleepless night of pain, the old man drags his breathless lifeless corpse out of a sunken bed of jagged shards of rocky thorny glass and steel, unable to yet see or function as the classical music plays he scrapes his rigamortis laden corpse across the floor to prepare his coffee, as his hands shake and tremble he pours in the water and counts the scoops of grind then after fumbling he manages to plug in the percolator, as the coffee begins to perc he shuffles off to the toilet where in a hungerous ragging fit his bowels bellow out, blankly staring into the abyss his reflection in the mirror shows his disheveled hair and beard, to tired to care he stumbles back to his bed, he struggles to pull on his pants then he slips on his slippers and pours a cup of coffee, gently he packs scraps of tobacco into his pipe and steps out the door, the morning is stuck between dark and light as the sun struggles to rise, the air has a hint of fall as it is still hot and humid, as the world begins to wake not a single soul cares for the horrish existence the old man is forced to endure yet another day;

DNA is often thought of as a mandatory programming code for cellular self-assembly, but this is outdated.

Cells are simple, but they are not mere automatons exhibiting the same behavior.

DNA is about possible physical configurations. Gene expression is the environment-driven selection of configurations, driven by "what it's like" for that cell.

This is why I say that qualia are the basis of minds rather than their products.
