🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED TODAY 🚨

I am a 48-year-old disabled man living in poverty, and I am struggling to survive.

Every day is a battle against constant pain, sleepless nights, hunger, declining health, worsening vision, vertigo, mobility issues, cognitive decline, and the harsh reality that my disability income does not come close to covering the cost of living.

I face impossible choices every day:

Food or hygiene.
Medication or necessities.
Survival today or survival tomorrow.

I have no safety net. No financial cushion. No family support. No meaningful support system.

I am asking for help because I genuinely do not know how much longer I can continue carrying this burden alone.

My Reality

I live solely on SSDI.

I have no health insurance.

I do not drive.

I live in a rural area with no public transportation, meaning everything I need must be delivered or depend on finding someone willing and able to help.

My housing situation is unstable. Part of my rent is paid through helping maintain the property where I live, but my disabilities and declining health are making even those responsibilities increasingly difficult.

I am aging in poverty, and every year brings new physical limitations, more pain, and greater uncertainty.

I am not getting better.

I am getting worse.

My Health Is Declining

My days are consumed by:

Chronic pain
Exhaustion
High blood pressure fluctuations
Vertigo and dizziness
Poor mobility
Knee, hip, ankle, and joint pain
Numbness and weakness in my hands
Cognitive and executive functioning decline
Vision problems and light sensitivity
Dental issues
Anxiety, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorder

Some days my vision becomes a fuzzy blur. Bright light hurts. Low light makes basic tasks difficult.

If I sit too long, my joints lock up.

If I stand too long, my legs burn and stiffen.

If I lie down, pain spreads throughout my body.

Simple daily activities that most people take for granted are becoming harder and harder to accomplish.

Why I Am Reaching Out

I am exhausted.

Physically.

Mentally.

Emotionally.

Spiritually.

I have spent years contacting organizations, charities, government agencies, advocacy programs, nonprofits, and anyone I could think of for help.

Most of the time I receive lists of resources, referrals, phone numbers, websites, and suggestions.

What I do not receive are results.

I desperately need someone willing to understand my actual circumstances and help create real, concrete solutions.

I do not need more lists.

I need advocacy.

I need a social worker or case manager who can help navigate housing, healthcare, benefits, food security, transportation, and long-term stability.

I know resources exist.

I simply cannot seem to access them on my own.

A Recent Example

A few months ago, I developed a serious dental problem.

The pain became so severe that my landlord had to take me to the emergency room simply to obtain antibiotics.

After extensive effort and repeated requests, I was able to receive an examination and X-rays, only to be referred elsewhere for additional care I could not afford and could not reliably travel to.

Multiple emails and follow-ups produced little more than apologies and delays.

This experience reflects a much larger problem:

Many disabled people are given information about help.

Far fewer are actually able to obtain that help.

Relief from immediate financial crisis

Stable, permanent housing
Consistent food security
Reliable healthcare access

My greatest need is stability.

I need a forever home where I can live safely for the rest of my life without constantly fearing homelessness, displacement, or crisis.

This Is About Dignity

This is not a request for luxury.

It is a plea for dignity.

Poverty is expensive.

Disability is exhausting.

Hunger is cruel.

Isolation is crushing.

I am trying to survive while my body and mind continue to deteriorate.

Despite everything, I continue to fight every day.

I continue to hope.

I continue to ask for help.

One of the reasons that I—and many others, I'm sure—have left the christian church is the terrible disconnect between the teachings of Jesus and the behaviour of His followers. And I'm not talking about personal stuff, either. It's the absolute public failures.

For instance, my home city has a daycare that was recently trashed and robbed. The daycare is in a low-income part of the city and serves a largely Indigenous population. They now face prohibitively high costs to replace the stolen security system, a broken fence, and a $2000 stroller (as well as personal electronics and teaching aids).

Meanwhile, also in Winnipeg, there are several megachurches, including ne that was the centre of a "protest" against the rules prohibiting large gatherings during the early months of the COVID pandemic. The church is huge, and they clearly have plenty of cash. And that's just one of them.

With this many wealthy christians in the city, there should never be a daycare that can't afford to recover losses like they just experienced. They shouldn't have to call their government representatives and the press to get the news out there. They should be able to call the churches to ask for help. And that help should come without strings.

And this disparity is so common that it is simply a characteristic of christians. I want nothing to do with that label any more.

Why is it that a man can carry scars, pain, responsibility, and hardship, yet still be made to feel that he is not allowed to need help or shed tears?

I am 48 years old, disabled, and living in poverty. Every day is a struggle against chronic pain, exhaustion, declining mobility, worsening vision, cognitive difficulties, hunger, and financial insecurity.

My disability income does not come close to covering the cost of living. I regularly face impossible choices between food, hygiene, basic necessities, and survival. My body is wearing down faster than I can keep up with, and I have no family, support network, or safety net to rely on.

As the clock runs out of time that never ends, my mind decays more with each passing day, for over the past couple of months I have attempted to teach myself to convert my asus AX89X to openwrt complete with adguardhome, pbr, sqm, wireguard, multiple interfaces and many firewall rules, I have had to do 3 serial recoveries, and deal with intermittent internet, I have setup up homeassistant on my sleeper fileserver, along with a custom 4 panel htop observation to monitor my routers, my server where my friendica is running from and my fileserver, I have battled countless traffic flow issues and cloudflare hiccups, numerous alterations to htaccess, and for why am I sharing any of this undetailed info, all of this should have taken a day maybe 3, but due to failing eyes and a mind that is truly in decay, it has been a battle in everyway, what is worse is I no longer understand any of what I have done, I have tried to make notes along the way, that look more like confusion than anything of use, to do things you once enjoyed only to watch how difficult it has become, not to mention a body that is constantly in agony, and every step seems to take an eternity, the exhaustion from the start of the day to the time I may drift away in the dark never seems to go away, the ragging hunger from both lack of food to actually cook and the strength or focus to realize I need to eat pass before I can care much more, the other day I tried to watch the football games only to realize I had no idea what was going on, the noise the action far to much to follow for a rapidly aging mind, my legs burn with pain, my hands ache all day, my back has no support neither awake nor at rest, teeth that throb and skin that flops from itching and hurting for no reason at all, my feet are cold as my core temp is low, as the rest of my body sweats in heat that is barely even hot, every bit of my being is weak, every part is out of sync, I simply am rotting with each and every day, for I speak out I reach for help, and none is heard nor found, alone in this aging impoverished disabled hell;

For if empathy, compassion, and dignity are truly human, why has society forgotten that men need them too?

Why is it that a man can carry scars, pain, responsibility, and hardship, yet still be made to feel that he is not allowed to need help or shed tears?

I am 48 years old, disabled, and living in poverty. Every day is a struggle against chronic pain, exhaustion, declining mobility, worsening vision, cognitive difficulties, hunger, and financial insecurity.

My disability income does not come close to covering the cost of living. I regularly face impossible choices between food, hygiene, basic necessities, and survival. My body is wearing down faster than I can keep up with, and I have no family, support network, or safety net to rely on.

I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for dignity.

I need help covering food, hygiene supplies, clothing, healthcare expenses, housing stability, and other basic necessities. Any contribution, no matter the size, helps me survive another day and move toward a more stable future.

My goal is not simply to endure. I want to build lasting stability, secure housing, and eventually create a place where I can help others who face the same struggles I have endured.
