  1. I've been real busy with the preparation but as it's #SettlerSaturday I wanted to come do fundraising. This time it's to help make sure I can make it to all the various ceremonies that I'm supposed to participate in and lead this summer.

Thank you to all who've given already! I leave for things very shortly, so this is the last time I'll be posting *in advance* of expenses. Either the next posts will probably be far more urgent and specific, or, I'll be getting to focus on what I'm there to do!

    ---

If you don't know, the Lakota do what you might think of as a giant choreographed dance party across the whole continent, a big collection of what are called Sundances. These were made illegal by the occupying U.S. government for like, more than 100 years! It's only since the 1970s that they've been legalized again, and that was under the strict observation of federal agents, so the revitalization was, uh, biased in some ways.

Now, a new generation of folk, who learned from the limits of the past, are helping revitalize the ceremonies even more, and I'm part of that effort.

Which sounds very nice and good, but, people at ceremonies eat, sweat, and shit: that means kitchens and, ahem, facilities. That means effort, and effort means energy, and until more people are Sundancing - (yes, many Sundances are open to non-Lakota!) - energy means money.

So please contribute, boost, or - if you have a social media presence on another platform - I'd ask you share this in your own way over there. Thank you!

  3. Sixty-five percent of Gaza is now inside what the UN calls access-restricted areas, expanded steadily since the so-called ceasefire took effect in October. The killing hasn’t stopped, it’s only been rezoned. Below: this week’s Mutual Aid Requests Roundup, the Palestinian Campaign Spotlight, and the Gaza Verified Archive. Open them.
