Hey, fedi: can anyone point me to movies or TV shows that are either whole or in part comprised of #generativeAI video? I'm not looking for YouTube or other social media videos, but something that people would watch on their TVs.
I had heard through @404mediaco reporting that companies were going to make AI slop for free TV. Call me crazy but I want to watch some of it.

Alright Fedi, I'm looking for a job out of AI hell. I know chances aren't great for anyone right now, but I'm taking mine anyway.

I'm a (senior?) #Python developer with 10 years of experience in both #DataScience and #SoftwareEngineering (with a preference for the latter). I can find my way around #Rust and don't shy away from #JavaScript. I've done a bit of #React lately and haven't found it terrible.

I thrive in team environments where I have time both to work on my own and in pairs or mobs ( https://mob.sh is a great tool I'd use again, but IntelliJ's Code With Me works too).

My greatest passion is automating the tasks around coding away - testing, building, deploying code with either the shortest set of commands or just fully automated from a pipeline on pull/merge requests.

I won't say no to places that require me to use AI, but I have a strong preference to be able to write my code myself.

Edit because I'm really dumb: looking in the greater #Mainz/ #Wiesbaden area in #Germany or fully remote. Remote is generally an important factor for me for personal reasons; if your company does things like "3 days a week office", I will only be able to do this in a very small radius.

Nutzt hier jemand #sdui, eine Software für Schulverwaltung? Unsere Schule führt das ein (wäre schön wenn ich sagen könnte "will einführen" aber der Zug ist schon abgefahren. Lol) und ich bin skeptisch. Insbesondere wenn ich Interviews dazu lese:

Ich finde keine Hinweise darauf, wie die Claims über Sicherheit zustande kommen - keine Security Audits, keine Offenlegung von Coding Standards oder irgendetwas. Typisches "Trust me bro".

Hey, #fedi and #mastodon folks: is there anyone out there who's written a guide to pulling out Mastodon About pages via the API?

What I'm interested in doing is gathering About pages (including server rules). I can do this by hand (indeed, I've done this many times before!) but maybe it's time for me to learn how to use the API. I'm not interested in posts or anything to do with users -- just the About pages.

Per the urgent mutual aid post from the Ranch, here's the update on my end:

The short of it, without getting too into the situation, is that we will not be getting paid and we are now two technically unemployed people. With already not having gotten paid for two weeks, and three kids to feed, this is a bit stressful, and there are significant income gaps we need to fill, now.

While I'll be looking for local jobs as well to fill these gaps, and my partner is likewise looking for more work, I've also added some services to my website. These are something I've been working on for some time, and was hoping to offer more on a free/pay what you can basis, but this is where we are.

I am also open to taking more tattoo clients earlier than anticipated, and will be open to mobile tattooing as well if you feel more comfortable holding ritual in your own space. My setup is as sanitary as any shop, and I've been blood-borne pathogen certified since I worked in an ER years ago. I can coach you on setting up your own space before I arrive if this is something you're interested in.

I'll also be offering drawing commissions: ritual pieces, altar artwork, sigils and wards, let me know what you need and your budget and let's make it a reality!

Additionally listed are dream and psychic sign interpretation via video call or as a document I can send to you to keep. If something's been nagging at you, why not get a practiced set of eyes on it?

I have an old monitor, an AOC I2475PXQU, that refuses to go on any resolution higher than 640x480 :/

Anyone have any tricks to reset a monitor that refuses to use proper resolution? I imagine there must be a way to hack the DDC protocol or something right?
