I have an old monitor, an AOC I2475PXQU, that refuses to go on any resolution higher than 640x480 :/

Anyone have any tricks to reset a monitor that refuses to use proper resolution? I imagine there must be a way to hack the DDC protocol or something right?

i explained this in my fluxer.app Geometry Dash Community (GDC), i don't have a public auth link because the bot currently sucks as it's being held together by sticks and stones. there's bugs that crash it that are very common, even just adding the bot to GDC crashed it after a bit and ever since it just crashes some time after turning on

so that's why i need to get it to a good condition, then maybe i'll have a public auth link so everyone can add it to their communities

ALSO, even when it's stable and doesn't crash all the time, the official instance uptime will only be around 10 to 25% because i'm hosting it with my laptop. so if anyone has a server or computer with good uptimes, feel free to host a FluxDash instance and tell me about it, and i'll add it to the README and bot indexes like FluxList or FluxerServers!

in october of last year, the Paint.NET on Linux topic resurfaced in the Paint.NET forums. apparently someone who goes by Blue Beard was working on getting Wine to work with the program. subsequently they got help from Paint.NET staff so that the effort could go in the right direction. today, the effort is still going and there's a somehow active GitHub repository with patches to Wine so that Paint.NET works, and from what i can see, it does! people are running Paint.NET!

the goal of this post is to spread awareness about the topic, and hopefully get more people on board with testing and maybe even helping if anyone knows how to deal with this. below, i've linked the forum thread, which has links to past threads with more information in them, and the GitHub repo with the patches, instructions, and a roadmap, in the repo everyone can look at the code and submit issues and PRs. i'd very much appreciate it as i miss Paint.NET a lot, i'll certainly be looking for ways to help as well!

Please 🚀. I'm going to stop short of saying you should not install the #ICEBlock app, but you should know that you're painting a giant target on your back if you use it, and it does not protect your information adequately. The Trump administration is not being coy about how they see this app and it's users, citing charges of obstruction of justice and general threats of prosecution.

The developer ignorantly insists the only way to safely use it is through iOS app store. That ignores the fact that Apple collects data on what users are installing what apps. It also ignores that the gov has been intercepting push notifications for several years now, so it would be as simple as comparing that data against those who receive push notifications at specific times to determine who is using the app.

The app is also closed-source, so the community cannot inspect it for vulnerabilities.

If they distributed through a 3rd party app store on Android, such as #fdroid (which you cannot do on iOS), they could allow users to run their own notification system using #unifiedpush. Google would not be involved at any stage.

Yes, this would be a high barrier to entry for use, but I think the usecase demands it. Almost certainly we will soon see prosecution for the apps' users and probably also removal from the App Store. Apple most certainly does not care enough to fight the government over this.

That is, unless, as I suspect, this app is actually a #honeypot.
