Webmin is hardened & clustered w/ three total nodes, ns1, ns2, and ns3 etc. I will eventually add clustered nodes on two other locations so records are still served when one cluster's host is down.
https://tech.haacksnetworking.org/2025/12/29/authoritative-dns-w-bind-9/ feedback welcome.
Added larger tmp directory & source-IPd vhost so webmin won't lock. Obv, make sure you use static, dedicated, & fully hardened external IPs for permitted list.

A first version of the Code of Conduct for my new business website. Nothing final, but I like the direction it takes.

I sent letters to my government legislators regarding negative effects for operating systems from Age Verification laws. Two got no response & one was a generic email about how my elected official was pro child safety. I urge everyone to keep writing their law makers. If this issue goes unnoticed by the general public, these laws will be passed. They will cripple children's ability to access & learn about #FOSS operating systems. #OpenSource #FreeSoftware #AskFedi #legal #Linux

Kimi on industrial hardware was able to complete a small but very non-trivial sys-admin task for me of checking that my Stalwart email configuration was working since migrating from plain binary to containerized version. It followed a checklist of verification and action and completed the task, including being interrupted by me to interrogate it.
This is significant because even though it was a task that was very laid out, the completion was multi-step and needed multiple checks.
And it worked on an Open Source model.
The only thing it required was better hardware than I have locally, but that's OK. Hardware is a straightforward problem. Knowing we can move away from proprietary software to Free Software, even for just 10-20% of agentic tasks, would be a very big step in the right direction

New feature! Import guests from CSV.
When someone gets to know about LibreWeddingPlanner, most likely they already have a list of guests they'd like to invite to their wedding. Adding those guests to the platform manually, one by one, is cumbersome and error-prone.
Yesterday we launched the guest import feature. Nothing fancy, just upload a CSV file, map your columns into the system's and keep moving.

Keep feedback coming!

Deux logiciels libres bien pratiques découverts ces jours-ci :
1. « Usermode FTP Server » (Linux) : permet de démarrer rapidement un serveur sftp (pour récupérer, par exemple, des fichiers depuis Android avec Material Files).
→ https://gitlab.com/ergoithz/umftpd2. « I Hate Money » (Web) : pour gérer les dépenses partagées avec les potes (beaucoup utilisent Tricount, non libre)

Free software developers: if need to set up a public git repository, from which anyone can clone (git clone <url>) your repo, you don't need Github or any other similar websites. All you need is a hosting service (it can be a low cost shared hosting service) which can execute git. Here is how:

Audrey Tang (@au / @audreyt.org ) will be giving a talk on Friday 22 May organised with our local #FOSS / #FLOSS group, from 15:30 to 16:30 UK time, in #Oxford and online. You're welcome to join (should also be recorded)!
The topic is "Good Enough Ancestor: Software Freedom as Civic Care across Generations". It will connect the software freedom movement to Audrey's and Caroline Green's framework for local, community-governed, more caring AI systems rather than reliance on centralised systems. Tang and Green work in the local University of Oxford Institute for AI Ethics. Tang is also first Digital Minister of Taiwan, and 2025 Right Livelihood laureate. Before ministership and research, Tang was a prolific FLOSS programmer, and since has for example helped persuade Pol.is to adopt the AGPL license.
