  6. @david_bardos Interesting article, and even more interesting website design!

One thing to note is that most people do not (and will not, ever) install an OS; they simply buy a device and Windows, macOS, Android, iOS come preinstalled. You could say they chose their OS by choosing the device.

In the same fashion, there are mobile Linux OSes, e.g. #PureOS and #FuriOS that just come preinstalled for users on devices: #Librem5, #LibertyPhone, #FLX1S+

I think it's this category of OSes that has the higher promise of adoption by normal non-technical folks.

I can't make it work with with FLX1 (not FLX1s). And I believe the issue is @FuriLabs choosing HDMI (Proprietary) over DisplayPort (Open Source). HDMI is NOT backwards compatible. FuriLabs don't provide info on the version of the HDMI port (I think it is 2.1). My monitor has two 2.0 version ports, which make it incompatible. I've tried different cables. Make sure your monitor can support this hub before purchasing.

Ist also schon alles sehr vielversprechend. 📱 🐧

  17. Anyone know the current state of @furilabs and the FLXs1 device?

Thinking about grabbing one since I see they are now in stock.

  18. @archivescribe @DaveMasonDotMe There's the #FLX1s from @furilabs

Also, upcoming projects from @mechasystems, @dawndrums and @Liberux

Of course, there's the #LibertyPhone / #Librem5 from @purism for true #gnuLinux... which I heard is receiving a new modem upgrade this year. That's what I'm currently daily driving with #postmarketOS.

  23. @TWiT @jp_bennett @RobCampbell Thanks for touching on #LinuxMobile in this episode.

    > [01:25:24]: getting ridiculous out there, the whole smartphone debacle we have going on. If someone could make a full-functioning Linux smartphone, I think it's getting to the point where I would pay maybe some serious money for it. I'd be willing to pay the premium dollars just make it work, get a phone on there.

Please check out the #FLX1s from @furilabs It's the most user-friendly option for #MobileLinux currently and stuff just works out of the box, including camera, phone calls, flatpaks, Android apps, etc. The specs are decent and the price is $499 atm.
