I upgraded my #Librem5 to PureOS Crimson.
Does anyone else experience slower app start times, and additionally I can only watch YouTube videos in 144p resolution. Usually 360p was definitely fluent.
Is this a known issue?On the positive side of things:
- Camera is waaay better! It is a really solid camera now.
- Battery performance is better for me
- UI looks better in most places
- Fully functional dark mode -

Also #PostmarketOS seems to run on the Librem 5. But I have no personal experience with that.

"The View Toward the City," Torsten Jovinge, 1930.
Jovinge (1898-1936) was a Swedish Modernist painter who had a brief but influential career.
He called his style "Purism" and was seen to be influenced by Cubism, with his use of colorful shapes in his work. But rather than distorting his subjects, or playing with perspective, he represents in his own way. He breaks them down into shapes but still retains some shading and texture.
His works were popular in his home country and were an influence on Swedish Modernism. He did a number of works set in various parts of Europe. He began painting and developed his style in the 1920s, traveling in Paris and other areas, and staying mostly in Sweden and Denmark in the 30s.
In 1936, he decided to travel to Morocco to paint, and during a stopover in Seville he was found shot to death in his hotel room. Spanish authorities, at the time caught up in the Spanish Civil War, claimed it was suicide, but the general agreement is that it was murder for unknown reasons.

@itsfoss If you can afford to, just buy a computer from a Linux-only vendor like #Purism, #Tuxedo, #Slimbook, #StarLabs, #System76, etc. You will get professional support, and contribute towards making desktop Linux really succeed.
If you can't afford it, ask your local retailers to sell computers with #Linux, otherwise you'll take your money elsewhere.

I've had some experience with secure #laptop hardware & software from @purism. They also make the #Purism #Key for secure boot, which I wrote about in #LinuxJournal some years back. Before that I used to buy hardware from a #Linux-focused reseller that shifted to a training company.
I like the ease-of-use the macOS ecosystem provides, but with MS #SpywareOS & Apple's flight from #FOSS to ever more proprietary software, I'd like to revisit #LinuxLaptops & #LTO9 servers.
