  1. "Purism exists because individual rights are no longer reliably protected by policy alone. In practice, they are determined by the design of the technology people are required to use.

The modern U.S. government no longer needs to openly censor speech or ban technologies to exert control. It can instead rely on a dense web of commercial platforms... that centralize power, identity, and data by design."

  7. Big update for #SailShark on #SailfishOS!

I’ve just integrated real-time WiFi decryption. By adding WPA2 keys in the settings, the app now uses #tshark backends to decrypt packets on the fly. Seeing DNS and HTTP traffic instead of just 802.11 DATA over the air is incredibly satisfying.

Next stop: catching that 4-way handshake!

  9. The Crimson beta version of #PureOS has been released. PureOS is the #Linux operating system that runs on the @purism devices, like the #Librem5 Linux #phone.

Thanks to all who contributed to this, whether as developer, issue reporter, subscriber or otherwise.

"For that purpose, we created PureOS Upgrade. This application walks you through the upgrade process, and in a few clicks or taps, you will have #Crimson!"

  13. Lilbits: Pebble smartwatches, Linux 7.0, and the uncertain future for Lenovo Legion Go graphics drivers

If you’ve got a PC that works, there’s not that much reason to worry about getting frequent driver updates unless you want to plug in some currently unsupported hardware. But if you’ve got a gaming PC, then frequent driver updates can be pretty important, as NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel often tweak graphics drivers to add support for new games and improve performance for existing titles.

    So a […]

Do you want to be customer of a company that listens into your private conversations?

    Leave the #duopoly. Buy a #MobileLinux phone.

    Personally, I'm using the #Librem5 from @purism.

  15. @utopify_org @janvlug @thibaultamartin
Screenshot of #SignalDesktop I took last year on #Librem5.

Regarding browsers, the default #FirefoxESR does not need any zooming in, and neither does #GnomeWeb, #Kumo or #AngelFish. On #BraveBrowser, I zoom in 125%.

Btw, being able to use desktop apps on #LinuxMobile is generally considered one of its advantages!

  16. @privacyguides I think #LinuxMobile is the only real path forward for freedom.

Instead of hoping in #Google, it would be better in the long run if concerned users rallied behind #Linux options (mainline or #Halium-based), and there are quite a few now, existing and upcoming.

  17. @drew_belloc @noodlejetski I don't have a dock either. I do have a favourites row though, and currently these are the pinned apps (arranged in no particular order):

    2. Chats (#Chatty) by Purism & GNOME - supports #SMS, #Matrix, #XMPP

    3. Contacts by GNOME

    4. #Firefox web browser by #Mozilla

    5. #SignalMessenger

    6. GNOME Settings

    7. #Phosh Mobile Settings

    8. Tweaks by #postmarketOS

    9. #Tuba (client for #Mastodon / #Fediverse)

    10. #Kasts by #KDE

  18. Do you have a #Linux #phone and are you sometimes doing a #run, walk, or something like that?

Then I highly recommend the #Jogger app.

    flathub.org/oc/apps/xyz.slothl

I use it on my #Librem5.

I'm curious to hear your experiences.
