There is some hope with Stamp (GNOME) and Merkuro Mail (KDE). The former seems more developed, but, for now, I think it can only be used with GNOME Online Accounts. The latter seems perfect for KDE, a nice successor to KMail (I love the design), but, unfortunately, it is still far from being usable. Does anyone know when a more complete version of Merkuro Mail will be available?

That's right, Nate. Not after the KDE discourse what the team call Mastodon a "toxic" community. I see the team is working on 6.8 so they can enjoy their upcoming 30th anniversary. Yet no time to get AI policy done in writing.

I am a KDE person. I have been for decades. Give me Plasma, Qt and a sensible desktop any day.
But… Synaptic is still magnificent after all these years.
A proper GUI for APT that lets you actually see dependencies, conflicts, versions, proposed changes and the consequences of your choices. Just Debian’s package machinery, exposed in all its glorious complexity.
It resolves dependency conflicts better than many newer tools, and lets you argue with the package universe until you reach an arrangement everyone can live with.
Some software ages. Synaptic simply acquires patina. 🐙💜

KDE has released the second beta of Plasma 6.8, ahead of the planned October 14 release.
The update fixes a Spectacle issue that could prevent screen recordings from saving and restores screenshot sharing.
It also reduces unhelpful notifications when display settings change, and the Brightness & Color widget now works fully with screen readers.
