PSA: I don't know who else needs to know this but if you're trying to get #neomutt working in #ubuntu but #mbsync is failing then take a look at #apparmor. It took me about an hour to figure this out & another hour to find a fix (found a great post!). Have had neomutt working in #CachyOS for a long time without issue, but on a spare laptop with Ubuntu it was a no-go for a painful few hours. No idea why the terminal or OS doesnt flag apparmor as a poss culprit. Guess I need to learn more about AA

Next step in my #linux journey - taking a dsktop battlestation with power and juice and putting linux on there and seeing if I can make it my primary compute system. I want to try somethign other than #cachyOS (which I enjoy). #Bazzite has not worked for me at all on many attempts. #pop_os kept having the loss of network need to reboot issues. #nobara has been problematic getting stuck in a loop from the latest updater (major version 43) trying to update to 44 and not getting there.
I could go #linuxmint or #ubuntu, but I like the arch underneath Cachy, and i need to look at other good #archlinux versions for running games - via #steam #heroicgameslauncher and #minigalaxy for #gog .
And I need to get the blog up to write about my experiences in proper longform.

So, uh… I opened #Shelly on #CachyOS to install another browser and the first three recommendations are *all* AI tools.
Not sure how to feel about this. No clue how it's determined with Shelly anyway, but given it's probably based on some statistic (it keeps being like this after restarting Shelly or reloading the repo) it still rubs me the wrong way.

There are a few lessons I had to learn during this journey.
1. Never again will I buy something from LACIER and Seagate!
2. #linux is great! Even for a beginner, willing to carefully dive into this universe of possibilities.
3. #apple #macos sucks when you really have to rely on it! The OS disappointed me before in small ways, but this was a new level of shit happens. Something like this never ever happened to me before. Not even with #windows.
Linux saved my day. And my data ... #cachyos

An update on saving my data from a #lacier HDD to a #ugreen Thunderbolt 3/4 M2 SSD.
What a journey this was. Kind of nerve-wracking.
But I managed it in the end. Thanks to #cachyos #linux!
And a cheap 2TB USB SSD from a colleague.
The data is secure. But the next step was to find out whether I could use the 5TB HDD again.
I needed to learn how to format drives within Linux, because both of my Macs refused to access the drive at all.
I managed; now it's a PS5 drive:D

I've also fought Blaidd and Iji was assassinated so Ranni's storyline's really done... I also beat Mogh and went to peek at the SOTE DLC for a bit. Good to know my Scadutree Fragments and Revered Ash Blessing was kept after NG+
I got all the great runes. Some of 'em are deactivated cos I don't bother with great runes anymore.

I've done so much. I've beat Rykard without having to assassinate any other Tarnished. Tried some new weapons, got pairs of old weapons. Also got some new spells. Discus of Light's cool. Law of Causality is alright. Tried some Great Runes but eh..

Alright, now I have #CachyOS on my desktop. The 2nd chance I've given this distro seems to be going better. I got Stellar Blade to run with DLSS. I can play it on my TV via Sunshine/Moonlight .
Sadly my hate for Wayland still persists, I switched to Cinnamon X11.
I hope my experience on desktop will be as stable as on laptop so I can make #linux my main OS on desktop too.

Welp, I beat Malenia with just bear claws and bear roar, with assist from Mimic Tear. No strategies, just bear necessities, some spells for increasing survivability (her scarlet rot takes a chunck off my health) and sheer determination.
I don't know how many times I've died but it's definitely more than 15. NG+ is pretty hard even tho I'm level 258. God, imagine how hard the DLC would be

Wenn das nicht klappt, muss ich die Thunderbolt-Platte umformatieren und den Kopiervorgang am #cachyos #linux Rechner durchführen.
Cachy OS versteht HFS+, aber nicht journaled.
Mac OS, was kannst du eigentlich, außer gut auszusehen ..?!

Finally got Dung Eater as an ash... or puppet. He's pretty good I guess. Almost as tanky as the Mimic Tear in my current gear. The puppet ash doesn't make a noise when attacking unlike the invader variant.
I also got the Fingerslayer Blade now. It's what Ranni told me to find. I'mma take a nap irl then I'll continue with the Ranni's storyline when I wake up
