« There Will Be Peace When It’s Profitable », acier inoxydable 304, acrylique, bois, pigments, toile et pièces métalliques (2026) par le directeur artistique et un artiste multidisciplinaire indien Kunel Gaur dont le style visuel s’inspire du design fonctionnel ainsi que du mouvement architectural « brutaliste » apparu dans les années 1950.
« Cette œuvre aborde son sujet avec une distance post-humaine, où l’opinion humaine n’occupe plus une place centrale. Elle considère le comportement comme un système plutôt que comme une histoire guidée par les sentiments. Depuis cette distance, notre ego surdimensionné, notre rapport sélectif à la vérité et notre mépris désinvolte les uns envers les autres deviennent des schémas plutôt que des tragédies. Elle sert à rappeler ces schémas façonnés par les marchés et la domination établies. »
La portée subversive de cette création me semble cependant devoir être pondérée par la démarche globale de Kunel Gaur qui reste dans le cadre d’une modernité toute capitaliste (voir l’article du site Creapills en lien). La critique de la marchandise comme moment de la domination de la marchandise... en quelque sorte.
