Great news y'all !!!

Work on the #XeroLinux TUI has concluded. We have added better support for #BTRFS with snapper n and Grub-BTRFS pre-configured out the box.

We have also added option to install #Hyprland with the #Noctalia Shell slightly pre-configured for a good starting point.

Stayed up too late installing #Niri and #Noctalia on my #Linux device.

First impressions?

A lot of me saying: Neat… now what shortcut keys did I hit to make it do that.

But nitpicking aside, Quickshell is my late love on Linux. It is all I'd hope GUI building would be twenty years ago when I'd despair writing GTK 2.

Ich meine, es ist ziemlich beeindruckend, dass ein verhältnismäßig kleines Projekt wie #Noctalia nicht nur in eine Distribution aufgenommen wird, sondern gar ganz #kde #Plasma ersetzt.

Klar, #kaos ist jetzt nicht Mainstream, aber doch zumindest nicht unbekannt.

Inzwischen bietet auch #noctalia shell ein layout switcher widget an, per plugin.
Aber ein Killerfeature hat #dankmaterialshell was noctalia nicht hat: #danksearch ! 👍

Auf einem alten Laptop #chachyos installiert. Mal gespannt wie es sich zu #opensuse #slowroll bzw. #tumbleweed schlägt.
Ausschlaggebend war #btrfs + rolling release.

In der aktuellen Version der #noctaliashell (2.14.4) können nun ganz einfach "custom buttons" eingerichtet werden. Stark!
Wenn ich da an #waybar denke..

Und es gibt nun auch ein #niri Icon für den "Starter". Leider ist kein #opensuse Icon vorhanden und das manuelle Einbinden wollte nicht funktionieren.

Seit ein paar Wochen #pikaos #niri auf meinem Notebook. Obwohl es auf debian sid basiert kommen selten Updates aus dem distro-eigenen Repo. Trotzdem läuft es nicht ganz rund. keepassxc hat noch nie funktioniert.
Ist mir dann doch etwas zu "boutique". Werde wieder auf #opensuse zurückwechseln zumal #noctalia - dieselbe schicke Shell - auch dort zu finden ist (3rd party repo).

Schöne Shell mit vielen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten (automatische Wallpaper, Farbmanagement, screen recorder, usw.)
