Sure, it's cool stuff and rapid development, but there is a TON of #wlroots based compositors that can tile like #niri, #mangowc etc.
Sure, cosmic has a more complete suite, but it is no way as deep and comprehensive as #gnome or #kde.
Aside of #popOS users, I'm not sure who it is for.

* Spend like half an hour setting up my keyboard shortcuts on #MangoWC and #Noctalia on my Odyssey Linux install on my laptop
* Realize that I've configured it to work exactly like my #Niri setup on my Desktop
* Think about how every time I install #Plasma desktop, I immediately tweak the settings so that it works as close to #Gnome default as possible

Finally a good usable guide on Freebsd 15.1 on my Thinkpad Carbon X1.
I presume it is usable also for other laptops.Running latest 15.1, with A/C wifi and MangoWC / suspend & resume
The guide uses KDE but with Wayland it is easy to install Mango for example.
Just do not use Ly as login manager (I do not use X11)
Do not forget to install / enable SeatdGreat!

So I've decided to go with #CachyOS (again) for a while, this time testing out their default #MangoWC setup.
Which, I was surprised to learn, uses #DankLinux. So that was a pleasent discovery.
Anyway, so far so good. MangoWC isn't as flashy as Hyprland, but it's pretty enough, easy to configure, and the project isn't run by a transphobic shitheel.
The default keybinds aren't terrible, although I'm probably going to switch some around to be closer to my default #Niri setup. The install itself is quite minimal, without so much as a premade directory in ~/ (except /.local and /.config of course) and no GUI text editor (Neovim and Micro are preinstalled). I like being able to pick the one I want, so that was a big plus, actually.
The default file manager is #Nautilus (#Gnome Files), which took me by surprise, but it's a good choice with a strong feature set that blends into the minimalist aesthetic.
It defaults to #Firefox, but you can choose to leave it out at install and pacman in your favorite instead.

Sweet. #VoidLinux installed to new partition. Dual boot #Arch and #Void is working good. Got WiFi working and void update done. Default font was way too small for my old eyes. Couldn't seem to find any that were larger in the default console fonts folder though. Copied over the HUGE ter-132b from my Arch partition and I can read again.
Next up getting a little more familiar with void and maybe checking out #MangoWC

My Slackware Tilers setup runs Sway, with the nwg-shell. And Mangowc with Noctalia. And Niri with Dank. Hyprland is available, but not installed. And Slackware Current. All from one iso and repository by @jloc0 . Smart thing: package sets are linked by symbolic links. Type "slackpkg install dank" and you'll see all related packages before they're pulled in. Way less 'dependency hell'. And very much up to date 😄 Thanks Jay!

Despues de tanto tiempo me e decidido a probar mangoWC,un compositor basado en dwl que basicamente es una fusion entre niri y hyprland,la experiencia a sido relativamente buena como suele ser con cualquier compositor o wm que pruebo :p

On #mangowc I use #dms because it has a widget to set the layout and you can place widgets on top above all windows. -
