Hermann Baum hat auch für die diesjährige #Fussball-WM wieder einen wunderbaren, voll automatischen Spielplan in #Excel gebaut. Mit allen Teams, allen Austragungsorten und Ankickzeiten. Obendrein funktioniert der Spielplan auch problemlos in #LibreOffice – soweit ich das bisher getestet habe.

Made a simple #LibreOffice template that should make it easier to create A5 #zines from an A4 paper. Double printed it gives 4 pages incl coverpage. I might make an A6 version as well.
I'm using LibreOffice instead of proper desktop publishing software, so that the barrier for creating zines is as low as possible.
Given everything that's happening in tech, I'm guessing zines might become a popular means to distribute information. Just like it did in the #DIY / punkscene from years ago.

I heard about an Anthropic employee spending $20,000 worth of Claude tokens to build a C compiler using a bunch of agents ... when improving how LibreOffice Impress handles notes for slides and shows notes in presentation mode was right there for the taking. Go figure.

@elgregor @itsfoss From a standards perspective yes.
But personally I'm not really a fan of #LibreOffice. For instance I think its UI is incredibly outdated (it lacks basic things like aligning objects to each other) and I've followed many discussions around UI improvements and they didn't inspire confidence (many weren't open to change).
There's also #Collabora Office, but at the moment it's rather clunky. E. g. it still saves empty documents if you just open it without ever clicking save.

In today's episode of "Why LibreOffice, Why?": For reasons that are probably only clear to the original developers, LibreOffice includes a Logo implementation. If you're of a certain vintage you may remember this as that thing that was used to introduce "programming" to kids in primary schools on an Apple IIe. You move a "turtle" around to draw shapes.
