  1. @eco-g I realised that in general English people are sticking more on big tech platforms than other Europeans.
    I see it in my own English family and friends. They’re all on #Facebook , #Instagram, #Twitter, #TikTok. They use it on a daily base. The only messengers in use are #WhatsApp and Facebook messenger.
    I tried to bring them over to use #Threema or #Signal instead. No success at all. Not one single contact moved to one of these. Even not as a 2nd option.
    I asked them to try #Mastodon instead of Twitter. #Friendica instead of Facebook. #Pixelfed instead of Instagram. #Loops instead of TikTok. No chance. Even the argument that they don’t need to use all of these platforms as they’re all part of the #Fediverse and users on different platforms can interact with each other didn’t work.

    Also they’re all using #Windows. Only one is trying to use #Linux now. Stick on the known things seems to matter more than #privacy.

    I gave up.
