  3. idk when @waterfox.net became pro-AI. Being a soft fork, it wasn't free of Mozilla's slop, but issues INHERENT to "#AI" (diffusion/large language models) were seemingly grasped and considered.
One more "#foss" project lost to the world-killing theft machine. :(

  5. Google's Manifest V3 transition has officially crippled uBlock Origin on Chrome and other Chromium browsers, severely limiting ad blocking and privacy features. Firefox stands as the last major browser committed to the powerful webRequest API, ensuring full uBlock Origin functionality. This isn't just about ads; it's about user control and the future of an open web.

  9. “Firefox is one of the few web browsers remaining that isn’t based on Chromium, and it’s now the only major browser to still support uBlock Origin. Neither Safari nor DuckDuckGo—the two other major non-Chromium browsers out there—support uBlock Origin.

For die-hard uBlock Origin fans, Firefox appears to be the only browser left without compromises. With any other browser, you’ll need to settle for uBlock Origin Lite (with fewer features and less ad-blocking success) or whatever built-in ad-blocking feature comes with the browser.”

I think there's a bug in #LibreWolf where, even if you add exceptions for a websocket, say: ws://192.168.0.2 ... it still tries to enforce wss:// anyway despite the exception. The only way for it to work properly is to disable "HTTPS-only Mode" (or only enable it in private browsing windows), and then the add-on that controls Kodi actually will work.

This doesn't happen in #Firefox even with "Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows" checked.

EDIT: It works if I set: "dom.security.https_only_mode.upgrade_local" to true and restart.

Which is why #Vivaldi doesn't win me over completely. Go with a #Firefox derivative (I prefer #Librewolf). Go to the EFFs site on covering your tracks online. Test it with ublock and privacy badger and antifingerprinting. It works.

    Now try it with Vivaldi.

Firefox recently announced via Bluesky post: “Our support for uBlock Origin isn’t going anywhere.”

Every other major browser has ended support. Brave still has its own built-in adblocker, but has also dropped ManifestV2 support, affecting other addons as well
