OK, so I decided I like #niri but trying to keep things as lean as my #sway setup, so using #rofi as a launcher for the moment. Need to move all my key bindings over (I wish there was a standard for that) and probably do some customization to push battery status to rofi or add another key binding to pop it up in a notification.

Und ich weiss auch nicht, ob das die Loesung sein soll. Vermutlich soll es eher sowohl als flow als auch optisch, in die Desktop Umgebung mit eingebunden werden?

Just found out about #noctalia shell - now using it for my #nixos #hyprland setup. Looks really nice (using the alpha v5), but one major thing is missing: Custom launcher options for usage in scripts - I still need to use #rofi for my custom selection menus :/

Oh, for sure. I was just talking about what was default or selectable in the default install between Ubuntu 2010.04-(ish) and the most recent Ubuntu Mate at the time.

I suppose if someone really wanted to, they could just yoink the theme files off the classic Ubuntu iso. ;)

Honestly, with a decent launcher like #rofi, Mate could be quite a nice little environment.

Alhamdulillah, I started HyprLTM-Net as a personal project for my Hyprland setup, which by the way I am still quietly improving, and now it has become a real open source project used by hundreds of users.

since the early days of #opera ... I am huge fan of #speeddials

therefor I created a html version for browsers and a #rofi version.

Lot of vibe-coding with #kagi, but works for me.

now my #niri setup is almost 😅 done..

Somebody interested in a little #somafm radio #rofi script?

Features:
- it plays in background
- select a station (first it kills any playing station)
- select random station (first it kills any playing station)
- only stop all playing stations

Requirements: rofi (😜), $emojifont, mpv

Of course the best is, to bind it to a keyboard shortcut
So if anyone wants it, let me know. But I think there are dozens of such scripts already out there....

I love #niri so much. In combination with #rofi ... so easy to a scale dialog, that stores the factor in the kdl file.

nearly done with #rofi in #niri ... dmenu, power, clipboard and wallpaper

[Update: I still love the ideas in I3 and Sway, but at the end of the day lack of any kind of accessibility options moved me over to @kde ]

Finally something that doesn't shower me with visual input I can't process and don't need and lets me move from desire -> action with the absolute minimum effort/keystrokes.

This stuff is GENIUS.
