Yes, I'm late to the party, I know. But right now, I feel like a king: I have created my first usable container image from scratch and published both the source and resulting image on my own Forgejo server 😎
From now on, I can install a complete OpenLDAP server with only one command. This is only version 0.0.1 and needs more work to be useful for others, but it's a foundation on which I can build. Next step is to create my own schema file, because why not. I have special needs, so to speak 😏
This LDAP server will be the source of truth for the Authentik server that follows, and the set of containers that will form a complete e-mail environment with all bells and whistles you can think of, and let's not forget Nextcloud, PowerDNS and Hubzilla.
It's almost time to say goodbye to my old server that has all software manually installed, and move to a modern setup where everything comes in its own container(s) and automatically plugs itself into Træfik, my reverse proxy.
I'm a happy self-hoster 😎

Hallo #Linux #Mint und #Nextcloud-Freunde!
Seit einiger Zeit bemerke ich, dass, wenn ich auf das Icon vom Nextcloud-Client klicke, nicht mehr dieses "Status-Popup" kommt (das die letzten synchronisierten Dateien zeigt etc) sondern: gar nichts! Doppelklick öffnet den Dateimanager, rechtsklick bietet die üblichen Optionen ("Nextcloud Desktop öffnen" macht auch nichts, die anderen Optionen funktionieren)...
Ich habe da zwei Instanzen drüber laufen...
Jemand ne Idee?

Ich will doch nicht viel. Ich will einfach nur bei OpenStreetmap im Browser anmelden, ein Lesezeichen setzen, und es auf meinem Android in OSMand~ wieder abrufen können.
Ich tu alles, wirklich!! Ich installiere ein PlugIn für Nextcloud, ich make ein Github Projekt, ich hoste einen service auf meinem Pi, aber lasst mich doch bitte ENDLICH einen Anflug von Moderne mit OpernStreetMap erleben.

Trochu jsem si osahal #podman, že ho nasadím doma místo #docker.
Zatím jsem z toho takový rozpačitý a úplně si nejsem jistý, jestli to implementuju správně 🤔
Dobral jsem se k rootless spouštění, otestoval si Caddy server, ale pořád mi nechce startovat automaticky po bootu 😕
Další sranda pak bude #nextcloud migrace z NextcloudPi na nový stroj a správné nastavení adresářů pro kontejnery, aby mohly sahat, kam chci... -
Does anyone have experience or opinion on Synology Drive or Nextcloud? I’ve set up my #Synology NAS recently and can’t decide which one I should use primarily to backup my photos. I also downloaded and currently using Synology Photos app to view the images and am satisfied so far.
I’d like to hear your thoughts if you have experience with #SynologyDrive or #Nextcloud.

Damals war Zoom richtig gut, die Übertragungsqualität ist heute noch mitunter die beste auf dem Markt. Ich hatte es viel benutzt für #HybridEvents.
Doch heute: Alle Kunden nehmen nur noch #msTeams. Obwohl es deutlich schlechter ist.
Für tatsächliche einfache Videocalls bin ich zwar mit #NextCloudTalk unter #Ubuntu #Linux mit dem Desktop-Client gescheitert… aber mal ehrlich: Eigentlich reicht die Qualität im Browser für normale Calls ohne Event-Charakter.
#NextCloud ist bei #IONOS deutlich (!) günstiger als ein Zoom-Abo, und man bekommt ja das volle Paket, also Datei-Cloud, Kalenderserver, Online-Office und man kann zig User anlegen, und das alles innerhalb der DSGVO-Zone gehostet.
Der #NextcloudFiles Client ist unter Ubuntu im Paketmanagement enthalten, völlig easy. Der Talk-Server auch. Der Client halt (noch?) nicht.

Das Flatpak macht dabei zunächst mal genau das, was der Grund ist, dass Leute keine Debian-Pakete mehr verwenden wollen: Es beschwert sich über irgendwelche fehlenden Runtimes und ähnliches.
Das behebe ich als Nerd, woraufhin Flatpack etwa 1GB an Runtime-Gedönse runterlädt. Genauso schlecht wie Windows eben.
Dann kann ich nicht auf die Kamera zugreifen. „Fehler beim Zugriff auf die Kamera”. Ich versuche irgendwas mit Flatpak Permissions und scheitere.

Ja ich muss mal kucken, was meine #NextCloud-Instanz von #IONOS in puncto #VideoCall kann.
Ich bin halt als Tontechniker irgendwie… empfindlich.
Microsoft hat ja in Teams den Hifi Musikmodus abgeschossen, also er existiert, funktioniert aber nie richtig.
Die fehlenden Parameter für Übertragungsqualität ist in allen mir bisher untergekommenen browserbasierten Lösungen ein Problem.

I just deployed @nextcloud on @ubuntu Core on a @raspberrypi paired with my 4TB NAS in a weekend and probably will never have to SSH into it or worry about it again because this is an appliance deployment apparently. :bongoCat:

Anyone got a working solution for passkeys? I have my keepass db on nextcloud and sync to desktop and phone (grapheneOs). It's very per-device.

J'avais besoin d'un #kanban pour un petit projet. Un truc simple à installer, open-source et intuitif - J'ai trouvé @kanboard - Installation ultra-facile ! Une base de données #sqlite et c'est parti. J'ai hésité avec @vikunja qui a l'air aussi très bien. PS : C'est le format de la BDD qui a pesé dans la balance avec le lien public qui n'est pas proposé dans #nextcloud avec #deck (dommage).

Just going to say it, #Steamdeck with #logitech #K380 makes for a rather nice mobile device to get work done. #DeskTopMode is pretty smooth and after getting #nextcloud client working I can sync specific folders with @murena
I thought the small screen would be an issue but did a weekend train trip and was able to get a lot of writing done.Just need a way for the two to clip together

For notes, I'm using #Nextcloud Notes to sync and work in the browser, with the NextCloud Notes Android app and the #GNOME app #Iotas in desktop.
Iotas doesn't save notes as .md files. Instead it uses a SQLite database but is great exporting notes as PDF, ODT, HTML and MD.
I'm still keeping #QOwnNotes in the mix, but I haven't yet set up the Nextcloud desktop app to sync with my Linux system.
#OneCalendar, Iotas and #Thunderbird sync with Nextcloud without requiring extra apps.
